POSITION: PROJECT ACCOUNTANT/OFFICE MANAGER DURATION: PERMANENT – PART TIME w/ SEMI-FLEXIBLE HOURS LOCATION: BEND, OR (Employee to be located in Bend, OR but we are an entirely virtual office) ORGANIZATION AMP is a small consulting firm working with clients on some of the most challenging water, economic and natural resource management issues in unique, creative and energizing ways. POSITION DESCRIPTION AMP Insights is seeking candidates for the position of Project Accountant/Office Manager to start as soon as possible. We are looking for a part-time employee, not a contract bookkeeper. For this position, we are looking for independent, detail-oriented applicants. Responsibilities fall into two categories: office management (general & administrative) and project accounting/bookkeeping. Office Management • Maintain personnel files with current information • Maintain accurate and complete archived electronic records • Provide administrative support for the company’s retirement plan, including monthly deferral payments and annual reporting • Provide administrative support for the company’s health plan • Serve as the company’s primary liaison for other administrative contacts (state, federal, local jurisdictions, and others) • Post office mail collection, banking and office supply purchasing • Other duties as requested by the Managing Director, Finance Director, and company Partners. Project Accounting/Bookkeeping • Maintain project documentation electronic files including budgets and various contract requirement • Review and record monthly time sheets and expense reports for partners, employees and contractors • Process expense reimbursements • Prepare and send invoices and supporting documentation to company clients • Coordinate with the external payroll service to ensure accurate and timely payment of employees • Monitor external payroll service to ensure timely payment of payroll taxes • Process incoming invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors, contractors, and partners. • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports • Prepare monthly and annual (non-payroll) tax payments • Carry out company banking, including reconciling statements and depositing checks via in- person and mobile banking • Carry out miscellaneous tasks for partners and company CPA MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop (including both accrual and cash accounting methods) • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) • Experience and comfort with Apple/Mac for above applications or willingness to learn • Good oral and written communication skills • Numerical accuracy and attention to detail • Good organization skills • Ability to handle confidential information ADDITIONAL DETAILS • Part-time - Approximately 30-40 hours/month • Schedule is semi-flexible; the bulk of hours worked each month occur at the beginning of the month and applicants must be available during these days to ensure timely invoicing of clients • Competitive hourly wage ($30-$50 per hour, depending on availability and experience) • 401K retirement plan, eligible after 6 months of employment HOW TO APPLY • Interested candidates should submit a resume (maximum two pages) and a letter of interest (maximum one page) to [email protected]. • References may be required later in the process. • Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. • Receipt of application will be acknowledged.
