Till 2014 the length of National Highways was 1,659 km. In 2018 the length of National Highways has been increased to reach 3,531 km. 38 development projects in the road sector have been undertaken with investments worth Rs. 14,000 Cr, and are scheduled for completion in 2019. Haryana being bordered by Delhi, a lot of effort has been made to ensure smooth flow of traffic between these two States. The most significant amongst these is the 135 km 6 lane Eastern Peripheral Expressway, built worth Rs. 11,000 Cr, connecting Kundli to Palwal via Ghaziabad. In the coming years many new road development initiatives will be undertaken in Haryana. “When a network of good roads is created, the economy of the country also picks up pace. When complete, the Bypass will help decongest tra¡c on this stretch. The Govt. of Haryana will upgrade the remaining section till Kharkhauda. Auchindi Bawana Road will be connected with UER 2 using section of Western Yamuna Canal. A new link COMPLETION alongOF UER 2: Western AUCHINDI BAWANA Yamuna ROAD Canal has been proposed as Bypass of Bawana Karnal Western Yamuna Kharkhauda Canal NH-1 Proposed New Auchindi Link along Canal Narela Industrial Complex Daryapur UER 2 Bawana UER 2 17 Faridabad - Ballabgarh Bypass The upcoming Kalindi bypass will be integrated into the existing 26.1 km Faridabad Ballabgarh bypass. Aligned parallel to NH-2, the bypass is to be upgraded to an access controlled NH. Faridabad - Ballabhgarh Bypass Delhi Ballabhgarh-Faridabad Bypass 2 Palwal 18 Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway The Faridabad - Noida - Ghaziabad route is on its way to be declared as a NH. DPR under progress by IAHE. On construction of the bridge over River Yamuna and the Gurgaon Canal, Faridabad will be connected seamlessly with Noida. The Expressway will link faridabad, Noida, and Greater Noida while DECONGESTIONbypassing Delhi/ OF NH Kalindi 2: Completion Kunj. of FNG Expressway Ghaziabad NH 24 New Delhi Noida Inner Ring Road Yamuna River F.N.G Noida Greater Noida Exp. Outer Ring Road UP Border Delhi Mehrauli NH 2 NH Faridabad Surajkund Road F.N.G Expressway Proposed Bridge Faridabad Faridabad Gurgaon Road 19 Delhi Saharanpur Highway A 150 km long signal free corridor worth Rs. 10,000 Cr will be built connecting Delhi and Saharanpur. Part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana, the new road will start from the Delhi Meerut Expressway NH- 9. Passing through Akshardham, Geeta Colony, it will link the Loni-Saharanpur road, cross the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and stretch upto the Saharanpur Bypass. The Delhi Saharanpur Highway will include Service roads, Flyovers, ROBs and bridges. It will help in decongesting Delhi. DPR of 31 km of this road is being prepared. Dwarka Expressway The Dwarka Expressway (DEW) is being developed as India’s first 8-lane fully access-controlled urban expressway with 6-lane service road. It starts from Shiv Murti and terminates at Kherki Dhaula on NH-8, completely bypassing the existing congestion on NH-8. DEW would provide direct access to upcoming Delhi Najafgarh Exhibition-Cum-Convention Centre (ECC) spread Dwarka over in an area of approx. 90 ha in Sector 25 of Dwarka. ECC SITE Project Road: It would provide Southern access connectivity to IGI Dwarka Expressway: From SPR- NH-8 Airport through the dedicated Twin Tube Shallow Juction to Dwarka Sector-21, UER-II till Shibv Murti on NH-8 Tunnel. DPR for providing western access connectivity to T-3 of IGI Airport through deep tunnel is under preparation. There is also provision of 8-lane shallow tunnel of length 3.6 km starting on link road till RuB NH-8 Shiv Murti, NH-8 due to close proximity of IGI Airport. This will be the NH-236 first urban tunnel of India. Dwarka Express Gurgaonway SH-15 SH-26 NH-8 NH-248 20 Manesar km 42 Kherki Daula Toll Plaza Dwarka Expressway Multi-level interchanges have been proposed at major intersections and a cloverleaf is proposed at intersection of DEW and NH-8. The total length of elevated main carriageway is 23.12 km along with elevated service road at some locations. For monitoring of traffic movement, incident management and tolling, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is proposed to be developed. Financing pattern: The proposed outlay of the scheme is Rs. 250 lacs for the financial year 2016-17. Out of this, Rs. 150 lacs will be the Central Share and Rs. 100 lacs will be the State Share. c Aims and objectives: The erstwhile "Assistance for Development of National Parks and Sanctuaries" was modified and renamed as 'Integrated Development of Wildlife Habitats". This Central sector scheme provides the following: 1. Support to Protected Areas (National Parks, Wildlife Sanctuaries, Conservation Reserves and Community Reserves). 2. Protection of Wildlife outside Protected Areas. 3. Recovery Programmes for saving critically endangered species and habitat. In Haryana, the wildlife conservation is being achieved through in-situ and ex-situ conservation strategies. There are 2 National Parks, 8 Wildlife Sanctuaries and 2 Conservation Reserves in the State subjected to in-situ conservation. Under ex-situ conservation, breeding of Red Jungle Fowl is being done at Berwala and Morni (Panchkula). A Jatayu (Vulture) conservation and breeding centre is established at Bir-Shikargah near Pinjore in collaboration with Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS). A Peacock and Chinkara conservation breeding centre has been established at Jhabua, Rewari. Chinkara and Black bucks are also being in-situ protected at Kairu in Bhiwani and at Nahar in Jhajhar. An Elephant rehabilitation centre is being established at Ban Santor in Yamunanagar district. Department has established a deer park at Hisar and small zoos at Bhiwani, Rohtak and Pipli (Kurushetra).

INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background On 31st December 2019, World Health Organization (WHO) China Country office was informed of cases of pneumonia of unknown etiology detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province of China. On 7th January 2020, Chinese authorities identified a new strain of Corona virus as causative agent for disease. The virus has been renamed by WHO as SARS-CoV-2 and the disease caused by it as COVID-19. In India, as on 26th February, 2020 three travel related cases were reported (all from Kerala). These three were quarantined and symptomatic treatment provided to all three until five samples turned negative. On 2nd March 2020 two more passengers from Italy and Dubai respectively tested positive for COVID-19. 1.2 Risk Assessment COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by WHO on 11th March, 2020. While earlier the focus of spread was centered on China, it has now shifted to Europe and North America. WHO has advised countries to take a whole-of-government, whole- of-society approach, built around a comprehensive strategy to prevent infections, save lives and minimize impact. In India also, clusters have appeared in multiple States, particularly Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka, Telangana and UT of Ladakh. 211 districts are now reporting COVID-19 cases and the risk of further spread remains very high. 1.3 Epidemiology Coronaviruses belong to a large family of viruses, some causing illness in people and others that circulate among animals, including camels, cats, bats, etc.
