2016 AZ Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic STAFF Mike Baker: Mike is currently a Major League Scout with the PiWsburgh Pirates. He previously served as an interna_onal and full-_me scout with the Orioles, Yankees, Mets, and Rangers. In addi_on to scou_ng, Mike also held coaching posi_ons with the Orioles & Yankees, as well as the Netherlands Olympic Team.

Dave Burba: David is a former pitcher who played for the SeaWle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Cincinna_ Reds, , Texas Rangers, and Milwaukee Brewers from 1990 to 2004. In his 15-year major league career, Burba's record was 115–87, with 1,398 strikeouts, and a 4.49 ERA. Burba became pitching coach of the Tri-City Dust Devils for the 2011 season, the class-A team of the Colorado Rockies. Burba served as the Pitching Coach in Double-A (Harjord Yard Goats) for the Rockies, in 2016.

Jon ChasCne: Jon has been with the Factory since 2013. He helps with regional tryouts, player development events, and with our Under Armour Na_onal Tournament Division. He played college baseball at Cal Bap_st University in Riverside, CA. He served at Bethesda University as an infield coach for 2 years, and is currently the head coach at Vista Del Lago High School.

Dean Espy: Dean played his college baseball at South Mountain Community College and UCLA. While at SMCC, he carried a .331 balng average with 12 home runs. At UCLA he was primarily the team’s 1B and designated hiWer. He was draned in the 15th round in the 2011 MLB Amateur Dran by the . He then went on to spend a couple of years in the Rockies organiza_on. Dean has been working with Baseball Factory since 2011.

Lew Graham: Lew played college baseball at San Diego State University, where he also got the chance to play in the pres_gious Cape Cod Baseball League. Aner college, he went on to play in the New York Mets organiza_on. Since his playing days, Lew has served as a scout for 5 different organiza_ons. In addi_on to scou_ng, he also coached high school baseball for several years, and coached in the San Diego Collegiate Baseball League.

Jarod Jamerson: Jarod was a previous Baseball Factory Pre-Season All American Tournament before going on to play his college ball at New Mexico Highlands College where he was a standout shortstop. He was invited to extended spring training with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He played in the Fron_er and Freedom Indy Leagues.

Jack Lind: Jack is a former Big League 2nd basemen with the Milwaukee Brewers. Aner his playing career ended, Lind was an assistant coach at Arizona State University in 1981-1982 and a long_me minor league manager. He was a coach for the Buffalo Bisons in 1988. Lind was the PiWsburgh Pirates minor league field instructor in 1989 and minor league coordinator of instruc_on from 1990 to 1996. Moving to the big leagues, he was the Pirates' third base coach from 1997 to 2000 and a scout in 2001-2002. In 2006 he was manager of the Lexington Legends of the South Atlan_c League.

Dan Mooney: Dan serves as a Senior Director of the Exclusive Program. Dan began his collegiate career as a catcher at Brevard Junior College. He later transferred to North Carolina State University where he was a two-_me All-Atlan_c Coast Conference performer. Aner college, Dan played professionally in the Boston Red Sox organiza_on where he reached the double-A level before being forced to re_re aner an injury.

Milver Reyes: Milver has worked with the Baseball Factory for over 4 years, working several Player Development Events throughout the course of the year. In his playing days, Milver signed as an interna_onal free agent catcher with the Pirates as a 16 year old, in July 1999. Reyes spent 11 years in the minor leagues for the PiWsburgh Pirates playing at all levels (Rookie - Triple A). Reyes was part of the 2003 Williamsport CrosscuWers and 2004 Hickory Crawdads Championship Teams. Reyes started his coaching career in 2009 as a player-coach for the Lynchburg Hillcats, and managed in the Pirates organiza_on.

Rodney Spradlin: Rodney has coached and scouted with Baseball Factory for several years. He not only runs and coordinates Player Development events, but also helps to coordinate and run PREP & Tryout events in the southeast region. Rodney is a former Head Coach at William Byrd High School (Virginia) where he won a State Championship in 1997. He currently serves as the Pitching Coach at William Byrd. In addi_on, Rodney has been the Head Coach in the Virginia Commonwealth Games for 20 years. He is also a former Associate Scout with the Kansas City Royals. He played his college ball at Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN.

Ernie Young: Ernie is a former oujielder. He played all or part of eight seasons in Major League Baseball for the Oakland Athle_cs (1994-97), Kansas City Royals (1998), (1999), (2003), and Cleveland Indians (2004). He also played one season in Japan for the Yokohama BayStars (2002). Following his re_rement aner the 2007 season, Young became the hilng coach on the 's rookie-level team, the . In 2008, he was named the manager of the Kannapolis In_midators for the 2009 season. In 2011, Young was tabbed to manage the West Michigan Whitecaps, the class A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, a posi_on he retained for the 2012 season. Young currently serves on the Board of Directors of USA Baseball and managed the Team USA Professional Team for the 2011 World Cup and Pan Am Games. In 2016, Young served as an assistant coach for USA - Stripes team.

Inside you will find hard copies of these guidelines, program with schedule and Line up Cards. There will be a Pass List for your Team on-field Coaches if they are not in team uniform at each gate. Please send us the names of your on-field Coaching staff. All Scorekeepers, Team Mom/Dad, Team Sponsors all pay at the gate. Under 18 are free! If you would like to make arrangements to purchase additional passes for these people contact [email protected] Notes/Rules: 1. This Tournament is for HS Sophomore (Class of 2019) and younger players only. No exceptions – All Games are played at Peoria Sports Complex – Peoria, Arizona 2. Access gates to fields will be open 45 minutes prior to first games each day. 3. There is a gate admission charge of $8 per day. Multi-day discount passes are available at entry gates. 4. Water and Ice will be available at Scout Towers on each side of complex. Please send players or parents to tower to pick up or refill your water jugs! 5. NO PRE GAME INFIELD ON FIELDS - NO TEAM MEETINGS on fields after games… Clean out your dugout immediately after your game is complete. 6. All Games are 7 innings or no new inning after 2 hours. Tie games are permitted in Pool Play only after time limit is expired. If game is tied and time remains after 7 innings then continue play using tie-breaker – please be ready and organized! 7. NFHS rules with local modifications. 12 runs after 4innings or 8 runs after 5 innings rule is in effect for all games. 8. Home Team determined by coin-flip prior to start of game. Find opposing Manager early and get this resolved. Home team will be official scorebook. Lineup cards are in your team envelope. Final Scorecard will be collected by tournament staff at field from HOME TEAM. 9. DH and EH or 10th hitter is allowed. Integrity of batting order must be maintained. Lineup Cards must be given to Umpire and opposing team. 10. Be sure and start games on time. Umpires will start pre game meeting 5 minutes before game time. Do not make them wait. 11. Please confirm final score and sign scorecard prior to leaving field with Umpire. HOME TEAM will turn in game score to tournament staff. 12. Winners of each Pool will advance to championship round. Remaining teams will play additional consolation game. Check www.azfallclassic.com for results or at any of the entrance gates. 13. Tournament Director and Staff will have final say on all disputes. Please find Tournament Staff at each of the Scout Towers. All protests must be handled before Umpires leave field after final out. 14. Diamond Game Balls are provided but you MUST have your players and/or parents chase foul balls. 15. Wood or wood composite bats only – NO Metal inserts. 16. Minor League Hitting Cages are open and available for use all weekend. No soft toss into any fences!!! No hitting drills on grass!!! On deck hitters on dirt areas only! 17.
