ADMINISTRATIVE-TERRITORIAL AND TERRITORIAL DIVISION OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA AS OF 31 DECEMBER 2020 As of 31 December 2020, the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria is administratively divided into 28 administrative districts and 265 municipalities, in which there are 3 160 individual mayoralties. In addition, the municipality of Sofia and the cities of Plovdiv and Varna are subdivided into composite territorial administration units (quarters): capital municipality (Stolichna) - into 24 quarters, Plovdiv - into 6 quarters, Varna - into 5 quarters. As of 31 December 2020, there are 5 257 settlements in the Republic of Bulgaria, of which 257 towns, and 5 000 villages, while the settlement formations were 165 (including 8 of national and 157 of local importance). According to the requirements of the Classification of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS), applied by the European Union, the territory of the country is divided into statistical regions with 3 hierarchical levels. The upper two levels: NUTS1 - statistical zones, and NUTS2 - statistical regions, are not considered as administrative-territorial units, while the level of NUTS3 - districts, is defined as an administrative-territorial level, which corresponds to the 28 administrative districts. The NUTS3 regions and the 28 administrative districts have the same names. ADMINISTRATIVE-TERRITORIAL AND TERRITORIAL DIVISION OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA AS OF 31 DECEMBER 2019 As of 31 December 2019, the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria is administratively divided into 28 administrative districts and 265 municipalities, in which there are 3 177 individual mayoralties. Besides that, the municipality of Sofia and the towns of Plovdiv and Varna are subdivided into administrative- territorial regions: The municipality of Sofia - into 24 regions, the city of Plovdiv – into 6 regions, the city of Varna - into 5 regions. Certificate Economic activity: o Fire and explosive activity Based on: o the Ministry of Interior Act - Art. 125, para. 1, item 10 o Ordinance No. 8121h-882 dated 25.11.2014 on the Procedure for Implementation of State Fire Control - Art. 33, para. 1, item 5 Body, issuing an individual administrative act: The Director of the Fire Safety and Civil Protection General Directorate or the Director of the Regional Directorates of Fire Safety and Civil Protection Period of issuance: o 14 days Period of validity of the document/individual administrative act: o 3 years Authority exercising control over the activity of the service provider: o Minister of the Interior Body to appel an individual administrative act: o Supreme administrative authority and court Order, including time limits for appealing the actions of the service provider: o The certificate can be issued both by the General Fire Safety and Civil Protection Directorate and by the Regional Directorates of Fire Safety and Civil Protection, depending on the specifics of the site. (1) (Amended - SG, issue No 76 of 2005, in force as from 01.01.2007) This law regulates the structure, organization and activities of the professional organisations of physicians and dentists, the conditions for practicing the medical and dental professions and the liability for breaching professional ethics. (2) (Amended - SG, issue No 76 of 2005, in force as from 01.01.2007) For the purposes of this law a professional organizations of physicians shall mean the Bulgarian Medical Association (BMA), and a professional organizations of dentists shall mean the Bulgarian Dental Association (BDA). Art. 2. (1) (Amended - SG, issue No 76 of 2005, in force as from 01.01.2007) The Bulgarian Medical Association and the Bulgarian Dental Association are legal entities with headquarters in Sofia.
