CAROL SERVICES NORTON There is one thing that Norton can be relied on (there are many others cf course) and that is to sing. So to say that the Carol Service went well is to state the obvious. We sang many carols listened to the familiar readings and went home pleased if a little hoarse. The only snag that arose was the fact that we were using two different carol sheets, something which only same to light just before we started. Unfort unately the contents of the carols differed and once or twice there were problems with extra verses and slightly different words. However, this being Norton, was taken in cur stride and accepted as one of the things that the Rector does occasionally. KINGSDOWN. The general opinion is that this year's service was one of the best for some time. A churchful of people and some good singing. An ad hoc choir was a great success and the vocal group delightful both in sound and vision. Rosemary and Leslie Wallis accepted the role of the owners of Church Oast and provided a vast 521255Teynham amount of food and drink to revive us after the service.
