Having the opportunity to hike, run around, and be outside for a full school day really allowed his peers to recognize some of his areas of strength, and he got to feel better about his interactions as well!” “My students made connections to previous learning.” “They were interested in the connections to wetlands that we had done earlier in the year. They had a 1st hand understanding of how a ranch works and how important it is to our economy in AB. “ “They enjoyed this fieldtrip and realized that living on a ranch is a BIG job.” “The on-site teacher and coordinator were knowledgeable and well prepared, the events were varied and engaging, and the students had a great time!” “Great day. The students are so engaged and excited. Thank you for the opportunity. The connections you made to the land is something we can take up in the classroom.” “One of the very best field studies we have been on because of the working relationship prior to the trip and the flexibility they were able to show with each classroom” What do Students say? “I went on my first hike. I’ve never done this before. We climbed all the way up here and I can see forever. I want to do this again.” -Student “Is this ranch as big as a mall? It’s bigger! Oh!!!” -Student “This field trip is epic. We got to go hiking and into that in ground building (root cellar) and we got to make rope and try steer roping and I just had the best time. I wish we could come out here again.” - Gr 4 Student.
