’ ACCOMPLISHMENTS

1. Carol was Student Body President of Mt. Vernon Jr. college in 1943.. 2. Carol was President of the New Jersey Quarter Horse Association and the East coast Cutting Horse Association before she moved to Florida in 1963. 3. She then dedicated herself to breeding both racehorses and Quarter Horses, becoming President for three consecutive years of the Florida Quarter Horse Association, during which the Florida Futurities and activities flourished at an all-time high. 4. Most every discipline for which the was known, Carol participated in. In 1968, one of her homebred Thoroughbred racehorses, Franci’s Hat, became second- place winner of the Kentucky Derby. 5. Her endeavor to promote the successful racing of Quarter Horses in Florida was assisted through her active participation and leadership while President of the Central Florida Speed Horse Association. 6. In 1987, she was inducted into the Florida Quarter Horse Association Hall of Fame. 7. In 1989, Carol’s horse, Rugged Lark, was chosen to become a most-popular collector’s item for Breyer Animal Creations. 8. In 1997, Carol received two prestigious recognitions: The Marion County/Ocala Chamber of Commerce recognized Carol’s accomplishments as Good Will Ambassador for their County. 9. The American /Quarter Horse Association inducted Carol into their Hall of Fame, recognizing her many outstanding contributions to the American Quarter Horse industry. 10. For many years, groups and schools took advantage of Carol’s Open House policy that continually welcomed everyone to share Bo-Bett Farm’s knowledge on how to properly handle livestock so that animals and humans could enjoy one another while achieving success in a highly competitive world. In 1999 the National FFA recognized Carol’s assistance in helping them accomplish outstanding achievements in agriculture leadership, citizenship and community development. 11. In 2000, author Rebekah Witter wrote a book about Rugged Lark and Carol titled, “America’s Super Horse, The Story of Rugged Lark.” It became a first edition sellout in three years. 12. In 2007, Carol was inducted into the Marion County Florida Agriculture Hall of Fame. 13. In 2006, her most famous horse, Rugged Lark, was also inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame. 14. In 2009, Carol received a Lisa Perry bronze Legacy Award for 50 consecutive years of breeding American Quarter Horses. 15. Ini 2009, Carol received Outstanding Dogs In Review Breeder Of The Year – Winkie Award. 16. In 2010, Carol was American Kennel Club Top Toy Breeder. 17. In 2013, nominated for American Kennel Club Top Breeder.
