LAST WEEK SEPT. 9 AT LAKEWOOD RANCH COUNTRY CLUB Last week, we heard a presentation by Stacey VITALIY BEZRODNOV McKee, development director of HOPE Family AND THE GOLDEN GATES Services, Manatee County’s only certified domestic FROM ARMENIA violence service provider. She talked about how domestic violence does not discriminate against who is affected by physical, financial and emotional abuse. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the term CHECK US OUT! The State of Florida OK'd a Rotary license plate to become available Oct. 1. Rotary needs to presell 3,000 vouchers in order for plate production to begin. A great reason to decide to put one on your vehicle is that $25 of each plate purchase helps fund Rotary youth programs in Florida. Reunite Cultures Fund, an international cultural exchange, features talented young people from Yerevan, Armenia. They will offer us an entertaining and authentic glimpse into Armenia through music, song and dance. Club members can serve as host families for the performers; you can invite them into your home or even pay for a hotel stay for one or two nights. All of the students will be vaccinated and tested for COVID-19 upon arrival. There are seven males and six females who are on this tour. Click here to see their travel itinerary. How to Help Haiti The death toll continues to rise to more than 1,400 from the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti on Aug. 14. The country also reeling from rain, flooding and landslides caused by Tropical Storm Grace. ShelterBox is deploying a team to the region and working with Rotary to help displaced families. The response team will assess damage reports, understand from communities what they need, and work on the challenging logistics of delivering aid during a pandemic.
