Trainer G Delon was reprimanded under LR13.3 for his late rider declaration in race 3.

Trainer T Keys was fined the sum of $50 under LR13.3 for her late rider declarations in races

RACE 1 – LEIGH JORDAN ONE AGENCY COLLINS REAL ESTATE BM74 HCP – 1009 METRES

Merciabelle (T Baker) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as it had not started in a race for a period in excess of 12 months. Raced ungenerously. Over raced in the early and middle stages of the race.

Oracabessa (S Tsaikos) – Jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride as a result. Raced four wide in the early and middle stages.

Valcurl (C Jordan) – Raced three wide from the 700 metres.

Brockton Punch (P Lui) – Jumped awkwardly. Raced keenly to the . Had to be steadied off heels of Bothered, (K Maskiell) at the 600 metres. Rider K Maskiell was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground inwards.

RACE 2 – CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES MAIDEN – 1150 METRES

Prior to correct weight, rider S Tsaikos, (Perkins) and trainers representative Ms K Fulton, 6th place getter viewed the official replays of the home straight, in particular approximately the 150 metres before deciding not to lodge an objection. After doing so, they were satisfied and correct weight was given on the Judges numbers.

Fighting Frank (K Maskiell) – Bumped at the start by Gee Gees Jennia.

Perkins (S Tsaikos) – Jumped awkwardly at the start. Checked and tightened for room at about the 150 metres.

Gee Gees Rebel (T Doyle) – Slow into sride

I'm Evil Too (T Baker) – Commenced to over-race shortly after jumping.

Miss Enthusiasm (C Newitt) – Rider C Newitt pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 8 occasions prior to the , which is three more than permitted. Rider C Newitt was fined the sum of $200.

Wild Style ( S.Carr) - Rider S Carr pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in when riding her mount out at about the 150 metres, when insufficiently clear of PERKINS tightening that horse onto the rails, resulting in rider S Tsaikos checking his mount and his losing his rightful position. Rider S Carr’s licence was suspended for 1 Tasmanian race date to commence midnight the 8/01/21 and ending midnight 11/01/21. Rider S Carr was advised of her rights to appeal.

Gee Gees Jennia (B Muhcu) – Jumped in at the start and bumped with Fighting Frank. Raced three wide without cover throughout.

Sarsaparilla (P Lui) – Lost a nearside front shoe in .

RACE 3 – KEVIN SHARKIE MAIDEN – 1350 METRES

The start of this race was delayed approximately two and half minutes due to Wangaratta Race 1 running behind schedule.

After the running of this race rider K Maskiell after being dislodged from his mount underwent an examination by the oncourse Ambulance and doctor and was passed fit to take his remaining rides.

Douglas (K Maskiell) – started to compound in the home straight the gelding brushed the inside running rail at about the before veering off the track and collapsing. The horse was attended to by the veterinary surgeon who declared that the gelding was deceased. Rider K Maskiell gave evidence regarding the circumstances of the horse collapsing and the horse’s traits during the event. He stated that the horse had travelled comfortably to the home turn and that he didn’t feel anything amiss with the gelding in the run. Urine and blood samples were taken from the gelding.

Gee Gee Can Win (B McCoull) – Slow to muster early speed.

Rising Light (I Luximon) - Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the race. Inconvenienced briefly at about the 350 metres when Further She Goes rolled out marginally.

Naughty Helena (R Tan) – Declared a late scratching at 1.33pm on veterinary advice when the mare became fractious and hit its head in the barriers. Trainer L Gray was advised that Naughty Helena is required to officially barrier trial to the Stewards’ satisfaction prior to being permitted to race again and a veterinary certificate of soundness will also be required prior to racing. The Stewards ruled that all monies invested on Naughty Helena be refunded in full and that all successful wagers made prior to 1.33pm be subject to the following deductions from the face value of each ticket:

Further She Goes (C Jordan) – became unbalanced at about the when tightened for room on the rails by Rising Light which had rolled in marginally.

RACE 4 – DEAN WALKER DESIGNS MDN/CL1– 1880 METRES

Red Fiore (I Toker) – Raced three wide in the early stages. Stewards spoke to rider I Toker in relation to the improved performance of the gelding. Rider I Toker stated that the geldings improved performance could be attributed to the track today as in its previous start at Longford that the horse had failed to handle the tight track. He also stated that the horse had hung out throughout at Longford.

Full Knots Ahead (S Carr) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after it was kicked in the mounting yard and was passed fit to run. Underwent a further pre-race veterinary examination after getting its leg up on the barrier and was passed fit to run. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no abnormalities could be detected.

The Risk Factor (B McCoull) – Underwent a gear change behind the barriers after breaking the bridle on the way to the barriers. Lay in in the home straight.

Get Back Joe (B Muhcu) - Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have swollen right carpus. A veterinary certificate of soundness will be required prior to its next race start.

Parisma (Y Nishitani) – Over raced early and hung out on the first turn. Raced four wide and hung out for the entire back straight, before being eased down by its rider. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no abnormalities could be detected. Trainer L Gray was advised that Parisma has been stood down from racing until the completion of a satisfactory trial.

Tie One On (T Doyle) – Raced four wide for a major part of the race. Commenced to tire from the 600 metres. Under-went a post-race veterinary examination and no abnormalities could be detected.

Extended (S Tsaikos) – A warning has been placed on the filly’s barrier manners. Raced wide throughout.

Calingo (R Tan) – Unable to muster early speed.

RACE 5 – THAI IMPERIAL BM66 HCP – 1150 METRES

Artuso (K Maskiell) – Slow to begin.

Bogan Bill (I Luximon) – Jumped awkwardly and was slow out.

Gee Gee Manpower (A Darmanin) – Held up for a stride at the 200 metres.

Aragon Star (B Muhcu) – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a small abrasion to the left hind medial pastern.

California Honey (S Carr) – Over raced near the 600 metres. Rider S Carr advised Stewards that the mare over raced in the early stages and continued to over race getting towards the 600 metres and failed to respond to her riding from the 200 metres.

Eye On America (P Lui) – Slow to muster early speed.

Varekai (C Newitt) – Jumped awkwardly and was inconvenienced shortly after the start when California Honey shifted out, resulting in border protection electing to shift wider at the 250 metres.

Brimondo (C Jordan) – Raced three wide for a major part of the race before retiring.

RACE 6 – UNIQUE DOORS AND WINDOWS 3YO HCP – 1650 METRES

Prior to correct weight, trainer G Stevenson, (Turks Delight), the 4th place getter in the event lodged an objection against Lady Of Fortune, (A Darmanin), the second place getter, alleging interference in the home straight. After considering the evidence stewards were satisfied that the interference suffered was not greater than the overall margin and the protest was dismissed and correct weight was given on the judges numbers.

Turk Delight (I Toker) – Rider I Toker was accidently struck by T Bakers whip at approximately the 100 metres. Tightened for room at about the 200 metres when Lady Of Fortune shifted in

Has The Look (R Tan) – Over raced in the early stages.

Mystical Beauty (B Muhcu) – Stewards advised rider B Muchu to ensure he exercises care when shifting ground inwards over the concluding stages.

Northern Spirit (T Baker) – Jumped outwards and was slow into stride. Checked off heels of Lady of Fortune approaching the winning post.

Lady Of Fortune (A Darmanin) – Rider A Darmanin was reprimanded under AR131(a), careless riding for allowing his mount to shift in at approximately the 100 metres. In not taking action stewards were satisfied that although a run to the inside of Lady of Fortune had only opened up briefly that rider T Baker (Northern Spirit) hadn’t established himself in the run and that his mount had made up ground quickly over the final stages.

Needs A Tycoon (C Newitt) – Stewards granted permission for rider C Newitt to ride the filly ½ a kg over its allotted weight.

After the running of this race rider K Maskiell underwent an examination by the oncourse Ambulance officers and doctor and was stood down for the remainder of the meeting.

RACE 7 – ADAM BROOKS CLASS 1 HCP – 1009METRES

Akureyri (I Toker) – At the Akureyri rolled out simultaneous to I'm A Floozy shifting in. As a consequence Gee Gee Redhead had to be steadied and then the mare commenced to over race.

Gee Gees Doubleyou (R Tan) – Slow to begin.

Gee Gee Redhead (S Carr) – Steadied at the 800 metres and commenced to over-race.

Nippycool (T Doyle) – Threw its head in the air on jumping and struck rider T Doyle in the face and then raced back as a result.

After the running of this race rider T Doyle underwent an examination by the on course Ambulance officers and doctor and was cleared to fulfil his remaining riding engagements.

RACE 8 – DEVONPORT TRAVEL AND CRUISE BM60 HCP – 1650 METRES

Gregorian Chant (C Newitt) – Shifted in at about the 200 metres.

Gee Gee Bay Watch (P Lui) – At approximately the 200 metres, Gee Gee Bay Watch shifted out as Gregorian Chant (NZ) shifted in, resulting in Spihro being held up and tightened for galloping room. Rider P Lui was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a), careless riding.

Spihro (I Luximon) – Held up and tightened for room at about the 200 metres.

Irish Shotgun (NZ) (S Tsaikos) – Caught wide early.

Mannix (A Darmanin) – Rider A Darmanin accidently dropped his reigns in the home straight.

Classicman (T Doyle) – Caught wide early. Had a tendency to over race in the early stages.

RACE 9 – LADBROKES DEVONPORT CUP – 1880 METRES

Shot of Irish (D Pires) – Shot Of Irish lost an offside front plate in running.

Newhart (C Newitt) – bumped with Galway Girl at about the 200 metres.

Dark Wanderer (S Carr) – Pulled hard throughout. Rider S Carr stated to Stewards that she believed the gelding did not run out the full distance.

White Hawk (S Tsaikos) – carried wider on the home turn, clipped heels of Orange Roughie, blundered and lost ground.

Galway Girl (I Toker) – Stewards granted permission for rider I Toker to ride the mare 1 a kg over its allotted weight. Raced three wide from the 700 metres. Shifted out under pressure at the 200 metres and bumped with Newhart.

Kanji (C Jordan) – Unable to take up a forward position.

White Cliff (C Catania) - Rider C Catania was found guilty of a charge under the provisions of AR131(a) careless riding in that when attempting to shift her mount out to obtain a run to the outside of Shot Of Irish, resulting in Wineglass Bay being crowded and carried out onto White Hawk which in turn was taken out and clipped the heels of Orange Roughie. Rider G Catania’s riding licence was suspended for two Tasmanian race dates commencing midnight the 8th January 2021 and ending on midnight the 16th January, 2021. Rider G Catania was advised of her rights to appeal.

Shewearsthepants (NZ) (P Lui) – After leading for a major part of the race, commenced to tire from the 350 metres.

Generalmaintenance (I Luximon) – Held up rounding the home turn, behind the tiring Shewearsthepants (NZ).

Wineglass Bay (L Boyd) – Stewards granted permission for rider L Boyd to ride the ½ kg over the geldings allotted weight. On the home turn was crowded for room and carried out onto White Hawk.

RACE 10 – SEAFM & 7AD BM66 HCP – 1350 METRES

Lesnar (C Newitt) – Over raced in the early and middle stages.

Louis’ Choice (L Boyd) – Raced ungenerously and shifted in at about the 900 metres resulting in Bell Serande easing for a stride.

Bell Serenade (P Lui) – Slow out. Made the turn at the 600 metres awkward.

Ascot Lad (D Pires) – Rider D Pires reported that the gelding pulled up quickly and that he felt that there was something amiss with the gelding. Ascot Lad underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent abnormalities could be detected.

GENERAL

Trainer S Shaw (Orange Roughie) – advised stewards that the gelding had minor lacerations to the off side hind leg and that the gelding would now go for a spell. Trainer S Shaw was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to the geldings next race start.
