2013-14 VIRGINIA TECH BASKETBALL Head Coach James Johnson 2013-14 VIRGINIA TECH BASKETBALL A MESSAGE TO TECH SUPPORTERS This is a very exciting time for the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team. We look forward to a season that will bring in new faces and new challenges. It should be a season of excitement and of improvement. The thing I have noticed about this group through the summer and the preseason is their willingness to work. I stated often last season that I never had to coach effort and this season, that same spirit has been evident since day one. This group of players shows up ready to do their best, regardless of whether it’s on the court, in the weight room or in the classroom. They are always ready to take a step forward. During the last year, we have made very substantial strides in shaping this program into a group that makes this University proud. We have become more involved in campus and community projects and have comported ourselves in a manner expected of Virginia Tech students and student-athletes. We strive to make this team YOUR team. It has meant so much to the team and me that you stop us on the street, in restaurants and out in public and greet us all so warmly. I believe this partnership has gotten off to a wonderful start and will only grow stronger. The season will begin on Nov. 9 and we will need each and every one of you in Cassell Coliseum, supporting this team.

COLORADO basketball Postgame Quotes Colorado Buffaloes vs. Oregon State Beavers, Coors Events Center, Boulder, Colo. (January 2, 2014) Colorado Head Coach Tad Boyle General “Good win. Welcome to Pac‐12 conference play. Nothing is going to be easy, and I think anyone that saw the game tonight – certainly in person – knows the talent and skill that Oregon State has. We beat a good team tonight. They are much better than their record, and with [Eric] Moreland back, they’re a different animal. They’re going to be good once he [Moreland] gets in the fold. This was his first game back. [Devon] Collier is a beast down low, Roberto Nelson is one heck of a player and Moreland is good. They just keep coming at you with athletes off the bench. It’s a good win against a quality opponent, and we did what we had to do. The best thing is we won when we didn’t shoot the ball well. We talk about defense and rebounding being the cornerstones of our program. Tonight’s a good example of why that is and our guys did what they had to do.” On Offensive Execution “It was okay. We just didn’t make a lot of shots, and they’re long and they’re athletic. It’s kind of like playing against Syracuse’s zone, not that I’ve played against that. It’s been a few years as a coach, but they’re so long and they’re so athletic, they cover the ground quickly. We didn’t shoot the ball well from three, but I thought in the first part of the second half, we got the ball inside at the end of the shot clock.

An amendment to the port’s exclusive negotiation agreement for Project Mainstay was signed last week, indicating that both Mitsui & Co. and the Korean Elec- tric Power Corp. have terminated their involvement.
