Townsville radio survey released today

Radio ratings for will be released today and will show how listening trends have changed since the last audience survey was conducted 12 months ago.

The commercial stations serving the North city are Power100, Star 106.3, Hit103.1 Townsville and Triple M Townsville 102.3 (formerly 4TO).

The survey was conducted by Xtra Insights between 15 October and 3 November with a representative sample of 1,200 people participating.

Joan Warner, the chief executive officer of industry body Commercial Radio Australia, said Townsville was a competitive radio market with stations continuing to innovate to attract listeners.

Townsville local stations are accessible across all platforms including the industry’s RadioApp, making it easy to listen to Townsville’s radio stations on smartphones, while the recent launch of RadioApp skills for Alexa makes it easy to find the stations when listening on Amazon smart speakers such as the Echo.

“Townsville listeners can now simply ask Alexa to start playing their favourite local commercial stations by name or frequency, making regional radio easily accessible through voice technology,” Ms Warner said.

Townsville is the 80th regional survey to be conducted since 2014. The results of the survey will available here from 11am AEDT here at www.radioalive.com.au.

The Xtra Insights regional surveys report on the stations listened to most and provide data on audience sizes and demographics.
