08/2018 to present Qualifications Developer/Domain Lead for Business Development Ministry of Education, Abu Dhabi • Responsible for developing and implementing a qualifications framework for vocational education in Grade 9-12 across all public sector schools. • Domain Lead for Business Development responsible for the development and implementation of a Careers and Employer Engagement strategy across the UAE. Key responsibilities include creation of a Careers programme, work placement framework, policies and procedures as well as developing strategic partnerships with employers and higher education institutions. • Responsible for development of innovative marketing strategy and achievement of growth targets .

04/2017 to 07/18 Group Director of Education Manor Property Group – East Yorkshire, UK • Responsible for developing a new educational strategy for local property group establishing a new range of technical colleges as well as innovative career hubs.

02/2013 to 02/2017 Chief Executive Group – Queen’s Gardens, Hull, UK • Group CEO for one of the UK’s largest group of colleges comprising 30,000 students, 1100 staff and budget of £60m. • Leading successful diversification of income streams including establishment of 14-16 college, creation of commercial arm HCUK Training and development of composites training centre with Siemens. • Leading several organisational change programmes to financially rebase the Group as a result of a challenging external funding environment. • Maintaining high quality standards through successful Ofsted inspections (November 2015) and outstanding Higher Education Review (May 2016). • Developing a strong HE academic infrastructure resulting in the college becoming the 5th college in the UK to achieve Foundation Degree Awarding Powers. • Leading a transformational estates strategy to improve the student learning environment and maximise efficiency and utilisation. • Transforming the curriculum strategy to ensure it meets LEP priorities with a clear focus on employability. • Developing a new organisational strategy to enhance staff engagement.

01/2005 to 02/2013 Deputy Chief Executive Hull College Group – Queen’s Gardens, Hull, UK • Strategic lead for all aspects of the college curriculum including 14-16, FE, HE and Work based learning. • Strategic lead for quality culminating in outstanding Ofsted inspection across all areas in 2008 and 5 star EFQM award in 2008. • Led transfer of Hull School of Art and Design from the University of Lincoln in 2006 and Harrogate College from Met University in 2008 to Hull College Group. • Strategic lead for developing highly successful sponsorship of Sirius Academy in Hull and development of HCUK Multi Academy Trust sponsoring primary school. • Led the creation of Hull Studio School and advising government on establishment of direct entry for colleges at 14 following 2 year innovative pilot in the city.

05/2000 to 12/2005 Director of Learning and Student Support Halton College – Kingsway, Widnes, Cheshire, UK • Part of new strategic leadership team brought in to rescue college following inadequate FEFC inspection and financial irregularities. • Developed a new quality strategy and infrastructure to rapidly improve student outcomes. • Led a major curriculum review and developed a new FE, HE and WBL strategy. • Established a new £10m campus in Runcorn jointly with Widnes Sixth Form College. • Developed a new organisational strategy to transform the culture and improve staff morale.
