Students and parents, we wanted to share the approved dress code for the 2020-2021 school year. Parents, please take the time to review these guidelines with your students.

• Student IDs must always be worn and visible while on campus. • The district prohibits pictures, emblems, , or writing on clothing that are lewd, offensive, vulgar, or obscene, that depict the occult; that represent gang membership; or that advertise tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, drugs, or any other substance prohibited under school policy. The district also prohibits any clothing or grooming that in the principal’s judgment, may reasonably be expected to cause a disruption of or interfere with normal school operations. • Dresses or tops that are strapless, backless, crop-tops, tube-tops, halters, have spaghetti-type straps, or show midriff are prohibited. Low cut neck lines will not be worn. and must cover the waistband when hands are raised above head and cover the of the shoulder. • See-through clothing, such as fishnet/lace shirts and shredded, is prohibited. • or must be no higher than 3” above the knee. • Rips, holes, tears, or cuts above the knee must be patched so that no skin is visible. • Form-fitting garments such as and spandex must be worn with an appropriate , dress, , shorts, , etc. that reaches to 3” above the knee. • are prohibited. • Pants or shorts must be worn at the waistline (i.e., no sagging) and must have a hem. • No or head coverings of any kind are to be worn in the building. • All students must wear appropriate . All students who, in the opinion of a teacher, are in violation of this dress code will be sent to the principal or designee (i.e., assistant principal) for a determination. Administrators will have complete and final judgment on all matters concerning the interpretation of the Student Dress Policy code. Matters concerning appearance and dress not specifically covered in Student Standardized Dress Policy shall be within the discretion of the administration. If the principal determines that a student’s grooming or clothing violates the school’s dress code, the student will be given an opportunity to correct the problem at school. If not corrected, the student may be assigned to ISS for the remainder of the day, until the problem is corrected, or until a parent or designee brings an acceptable change of clothing to the school. Repeated offenses may result in more serious disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
