EASTER EGG HUNT – SPONSORED WALK The Parents’ Association Annual Easter Egg Hunt /Sponsored Walk took place on Saturday 12th March in Tracton Woods and we are delighted to announce that €925.50 was raised from this event. We wish to thank everyone involved for making the day such a huge success. All money raised goes towards subsidising activities for your children and we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge, with gratitude, the on-going hard work and commitment of the Parents’ Association.

DISCOVER CORK SCHOOLS’ HERITAGE PROJECT – 5TH/6TH CLASSES Pupils from 5th/6th class took part in the Discover Cork Schools’ Heritage Project and we are pleased to announce that their Class History Projects won a number of prizes. Congratulations to Lucy Brady, Eilish McGuinness and Orlagh Dempsey were placed First in the Primary Group section with their project on Cork City Gaol. Well done also to Sarah Kiely, Meghan O’Sullivan, Libby Ryan, and Laura Twohig whose project on the Irish Naval Base was awarded Fifth place. The Awards Ceremony took place on Tuesday 15th March in the Silversprings Convention Centre and a number of pupils attended on the night with their parents. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Noonan and commend all the pupils on their hard work and commitment to this venture.

PORT OF CORK SCHOOLS’ INITIATIVE – 5TH CLASS Once again, our 5th class pupils participated in the Port of Cork Schools’ Initiative and, this year, pupils were invited to explore tourism in Cork harbour. Our 5th class worked very hard on their projects which required them to design, plan and price tours for passengers from cruise liners in . The prize giving and presentation of certificates for the Port of Cork Schools Initiative 2016 took place last Wednesday in Port of Cork Boardroom on Custom House Street. Well done to all involved.

SCIATH NA SCOL Our school’s hurling and camogie teams played matches against Goggins Hill N.S. and N.S. in Minane Bridge last Tuesday. The boys put up a spirited performance but were narrowly beaten in both games. The girls played very well - drawing one match and losing the other. We wish to thank the parents/families who came along to support the teams.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION The Tracton Parish First Holy Communion Ceremony will take place in St. Patrick’s Church, at 11am on Saturday, 21st May.

CORK CITY SPORTS We have been advised that this year's Cork City Sports are scheduled to take place on Wednesday 1st June in CIT. Parents/guardians of participants will be required to attend. Further details at a later stage.

SCHOOL TOUR This year’s school tour will take place on Friday 10th June. Please see attached note for details regarding same.

SCHOOL CALENDAR – 2016/2017 A copy of School Calendar for the 2016/2017 school year is attached. Please note that the school will re- open after the summer break on Thursday 1st September 2016.
