YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU A Comedy in Three Acts By Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman October 23-25, 2014, @ 8pm Memorial Auditorium

A wild look at the eccentric Sycamore clan, complete with fireworks, a printing press, a ballet dancer and a Grand Duchess. The play celebrates those who live life to the fullest without worrying about the “system,” and that includes the tax system, too! The play, written in 1936, has been a popular American comedy since the day it opened and delights audiences everywhere.

This comedy will be the final production of PSU Theatre at Memorial Auditorium and was selected to showcase the fun and camaraderie enjoyed for years between the university and auditorium staff.

In , Sarah Ruhl reimagines the classic myth of through the eyes of its heroine. With contemporary characters, ingenious plot twists, and breathtaking visual effects, the play is a fresh look at a timeless love story. Critics have called it “rhapsodically beautiful…a luminous retelling of the Orpheus myth.”

This production, both classic and contemporary, was selected as the first production for the new 250-seat theatre in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts. It showcases one of America’s most prolific and revered playwrights and will bring a visual vibrancy to the stage – a great beginning for the university theatre program in their new space.
