We host Kicks for a Cause, a soccer tournament with sororities. We hosted kickball with Special Contact Olympics Missouri. As you prepare to begin a new chapter in your life, we encourage you to consider participating in fraternity or sorority recruitment. Our Greek community continues to experience growth and is considered a strong and vibrant component of the larger LSU community. The LSU Greek community is proud of its history and is equally excited about the future. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all Greek students, the University holds many expectations for all Greek students and Greek organizations. LSU expects all students to follow: all University policies and procedures, all state and local laws, and all policies of the inter/national organizations. Each semester, Greek students are provided with training and information on specific policies to include alcohol, hazing, drugs, and sexual misconduct. Likewise, LSU has a no hazing policy and holds individuals and organizations accountable for their actions. Our fraternities and sororities are looking for men and women who will contribute to their organization, the LSU campus, and the greater community. The efforts of white planters to supplant the loss of enslaved labor due to the abolition of American slavery played a crucial role in re-making the southern agrarian economy in the early twentieth century. My research explores how the conspicuous features of sharecropping, tenant farming, peonage, or other variations of debt servitude became a means for the re-enslavement of African Americans in the Arkansas Delta.
