6 WEEK STUDY PROGRAM Walk through the Liturgy with Bishop Barron

The Mass: This summer, walk through the Liturgy with Bishop Barron and be transformed through insights on this most privileged and intimate encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ. See how the Mass brings us out of the fallen world and into the heavenly realm, how it resonates with a call from God and a response from his people, the Church, and, most importantly, how we are intimately jointed with the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus through the Holy Eucharist. The Mass will help you understand how to fully, consciously, and actively participate in the source and summit of the Christian life.

What’s up with the Knights of Columbus and Vocations you ask. Well, please read:

Under the motto “Keep the Faith Alive,” the Knight’s’ of Columbus Vocations initiative has a number of programs based on prayer and designed to reach the hearts and minds of young people, as well as to provide financial support during their years of seminary training or religious formation. Please feel free to view kofc.org and look at all what “Vocations” is all about with regard to the Knights of Columbus support. Locally we support current seminarian Brent Smith. That support comes in a variety of ways. We host a dinner in Brent’s honor annually when he is in town. Last year (2017) it was Divine Mercy Dinner. This year, due to scheduling, we are hosting it on Saturday July 28th. This is truly a blessed weekend, as it is a 5th Sunday weekend and it is actually the day that Brent comes home from Omaha NE where he will be finishing up a formation at the Institute for Priestly Formation. In addition to this annual dinner for “one of our own” there is the Annual Vocations Raffle is THE fundraiser that supports this Charity of the Knights. Many of you support this drive every year - tickets are $1 each and a book of 15 is $15.00. There is a total of $20,000 in prizes is drawn with the grand prize being $10,000. To support this Charity, purchase raffle tickets from a Knight. For more information contact Tim Myscofski at [email protected] or at 708-278-4247.

SAVE THE DATE! - Saturday July 28th The Knights of Columbus, Fr. Mark and the Parish Staff invite ALL families of Corpus Christi to a great Saturday evening event on Saturday July 28th. While the exact agenda and menu are still being planned, we want to get the “SAVE THEE DATE” to all parishioners so you mark your calendar. Here is an overview of the events: Family Rosary, Family 5pm Mass, family dinner in Marian Hall with proceeds to support K of C Vocations AND Seminarian Brent Smith. Brent will be joining us that night too. It will be great for us to all have a chance to hear about his most recent year in Seminary.

We are in the process of working to secure entertainment and family games & activities to enhance the evening and make it fun for all families. Keep checking the bulletin for details. Please contact Mark Jatczak at 630-263-8377 or [email protected] if you want to help plan this Parish event and /or if you have talents or resources (i.e. DJ / music, bounce house, corn hole boards & bags, etc) that could help make this event more fun for everyone!
