The announcement was made by Michael Becker, chairman of the ACBL Hall of Fame Committee. The von Zedtwitz award is presented to individuals who have achieved prominence in the game of bridge and have an outstanding tournament record. The Blackwood award is presented to individuals who have contrib- uted to the game of bridge without necessarily being world class players. Blackwood and von Zedtwitz award winners are considered full- fledged Hall of Fame members.
