There’s also a “Musical America” review of the broadcast. I noticed that one selection (which Farrar announces) doesn’t appear on the program: a vocal arrangement of Kreisler’s Liebeslied . In 1917 she created the role of Lisette in the Monte Carlo world premiere of Puccini’s La Rondine . Aside from Italy, her career included South America where she was popular at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. His work covered much of Europe, including a Scandinavian tour, Prague, Basil, Italy, Amsterdam and throughout Germany. His Italian debut was in 1925 as Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia . The following year he had great success at the Teatro - 55 - 78 rpm VOCAL RECORDS Adriano in Rome as Lindoro in L’Italiana in Algeri opposite Conchita Supervia. He appeared in a number of Italian houses including the Rome Costanzi in 1925. Two years later he recorded the complete Rigoletto for La Voce del Padrone with Lina Pagliughi and Luigi Piazza. From 1929 he appeared mainly in Spain in zarzuelas and operettas as well as in concert and on the radio and film.
