 Presidential Proclamation 1028 of 1997 o Declared the entire Sulu-Celebes as an integrated conservation and development zone o created the Presidential Commission for the Integrated Conservation and Development of the Sulu and Celebes Seas (PCICDSC) o approved an Integrated Conservation and Development Plan and adopted the conservation plan for the SSME  Executive Order 578 of 2006 o Declaring a national policy on biodiversity directing government agencies to integrate and mainstream protection, conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity into their respective policies and programs, especially with regard to the Marine Corridor and the Sulu-Sulawesi Marine Ecoregion (SSME) o The Task Force for VIP has been created composed of representatives from various sectors having stake with the VIP including LGUs, NGOs, Business Sector, POs, etc. o The Management Framework Plan has been approved by the Presidential Commission for the Integrated Conservation and Development of Sulu- (PCICDSCS).
