BIOGRAPHY Dr. K. Jayakumar has more than 10 years of experience in the application of Remote Sensing and GIS on Coastal based natural resources management and conservation with special focus on mangrove wetlands. From May to November 2006 worked as a Project Fellow in Storm Water Management Project at Department of Geography, University of Madras. From February 2007 to June 2012 worked as Scientist at Remote Sensing and GIS Laboratory, Coastal System Research, M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), Chennai, where he was engaged in various mangroves related research, conservation, restoration and management projects. As a part of his thesis work, he developed an open source based WebGIS for wider dissemination and visibility of Mangrove Information Systems through a web browser for Godavari mangrove wetlands, Andhra Pradesh, India to conserve the mangrove ecosystem. From 2014 to till date he has been working as a Scientist-C for Center for Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics, Sathyabama University. The main responsibility in Sathyabama University is conducting training to scholars, scientist, government staffs, school students on Geospatial technology and involving to build institutional developments, publishing scientific works etc.
