Right-hander Parker Dunshee fired 7.1 hitless frames, allowing just one baserunner through the first seven innings. 2021 swb railriders 2021 swb railriders triple-a information On February 12, 2021, Major League Baseball announced its new plan for affiliated baseball, with 120 Minor League clubs officially agreeing to join the new Professional Development League (PDL). In total, the new player development system includes 179 teams across 17 leagues in 43 states and four provinces. Including the AZL and GCL, there are 209 teams across 19 leagues in 44 states and four provinces. That includes the 150 teams in the PDL and AZL/GCL along with the four partner leagues: the American Association, Atlantic League, Frontier League and Pioneer League. The long-time Triple-A structure of the International and Pacific Coast Leagues have been replaced by Triple-A East and Triple-A West. Triple-A East consists on 20 teams; all 14 from the International League, plus teams moving from the Pacific Coast League, the Southern League and the independent Atlantic League. Triple-A West is comprised of nine Pacific Coast League teams and one addition from the Atlantic League. These changes were made to help reduce travel and allow Major League teams to have their affiliates, in most cases, within 200 miles of the parent club (or play at their Spring Training facilities). triple-a clubs & affiliates midwest northeast southeast e Columbus (Cleveland Indians) Buffalo (Toronto Blue Jays) Charlotte (Chicago White Sox) Indianapolis (Pittsburgh Pirates) Lehigh Valley (Philadelphia Phillies) Durham (Tampa Bay Rays) a Iowa (Chicago Cubs) Rochester (Washington Nationals) Gwinnett (Atlanta Braves) s Louisville (Cincinnati Reds) Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre (New York Yankees) Jacksonville (Miami Marlins) Omaha (Kansas City Royals) Syracuse (New York Mets) Memphis (St.

The Boston Red Sox Friday, June 16, 2017 * The Boston Globe Chris Sale brought his A game, but Red Sox didn’t bring bats Peter Abraham PHILADELPHIA — Chris Sale had a game he’ll never forget on Thursday night, for reasons good and ultimately bad. The Red Sox pitcher had the first extra-base hit of his career and ran the bases like a giraffe being chased by a lion, his long legs taking him to second base on a double in the eighth inning and then to third. But Sale was left stranded, then he allowed a run in the bottom of the inning as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Red Sox, 1-0. The unlikely victory snapped an eight-game losing streak for the Phillies and was their first shutout of the season. The Sox failed to sweep the four-game, home-and-home interleague series. It was the sixth time the Sox have been blanked, matching all of last season. They managed only five hits, struck out 12 times, and were 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position. The Sox open a three-game series at Houston on Friday night. The 45-22 Astros have the best record in baseball. Sale (8-3) pitched his best game in several weeks. He allowed the one run on four hits and struck out 10 with one walk. It was the ninth time in 14 starts that Sale struck out 10 or more. “Just an outstanding performance all the way around,” Sox manager John Farrell said. “He personally did everything that he could to impact this game.” Sale got through seven innings with 93 pitches and took his turn at bat to start the eighth inning.

As a holiday that falls at the darkening of the year, it holds out the hope of the return of light and of its increase in the future. As the holiday of rededication, it turns us back to times of action and gives us a space to rekindle our passions. And, of course, it has become the holiday of the “present” as well! Rabbi Peg In the Talmud there is a debate between Rabbis Shammai and Hillel, the quintessen- Kershenbaum tial sparring partners. Shammai thinks that people should light 8 lamps (they didn’t use candles in those days) on the first night and one fewer each successive night, thus clicking off the days of the holiday until no lights are lit. Hillel believes that we should never decrease in holiness, so he recommends lighting one more lamp each night until the holiday goes out in a blaze of glory. As is mostly the case, we follow Hillel’s opinion. So, when we kindle our chanukiyot (Chanukah menorahs), we look forward to greater illumination each night. Chanukah also marked the time that the Maccabees purified the Temple in Jerusalem and re- consecrated it to the service of Adonai, driving out pagan practices, clearing away unkosher animal remains and tearing down the statue of Zeus.
