Garand Match on August 9 demon strate why these new shoot· Ing games are both fun and continue to grow in popular ity. They don't require a lot of special equipment and the equipment is readily available. They emphasize fun, camara derie and history. The top prizes are gold, silver and bronze medals that all partici pants can aspire to win. Highlights from the 2003 CMP Games events at the National Matches included over 600 shooters in the Spring field/Vintage Military Rifle Match, a record 1344 shoot· ers in the Garand Match and a big Increase in the 2nd Rimfire Sporter Match.
