Introduction Academic Calender The Faculty of fine Arts is dedicated to the education of Semester 1, 3, 5, 7: June to December professional artists and scholars of the history and theory of art. (Diwali vacation for 3 weeks as per University schedule) The emphasis is laid on creative identity of students and teachers Semester 2, 4, 6, 8: December to May to foster an approach to the study and practice of art which is (Followed by Summer vacation for 5 weeks) Faculty of Fine Arts inquiring, experimental and research minded. The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda The major subject areas are Painting, Sculpture, Applied Art and Graphic Arts which have a constructive and interactive Under Graduate & Diploma Courses relationship. The students are admitted to the Undergraduate ADMISSIONS 2014-15 courses on the basis of their aptitude in the subject so that they can learn within a specialist environment while benefitting from 4 Years (8 Semesters) Full Time Courses: interaction with the staff, students and facilities. The Faculty also offers Sculpture APPLIED ARTS research facilities in every area, leading to Ph.D. The University Applied Arts PAINTING Grants Commission has honoured the Faculty with prestigious Special Assistance Programme like D.S. A. and ASIHSS. SCULPTURE B.V.A. Art History and Aesthetics (Only Degree Course) There are about 500 students registered for taught programmes. Successful completion of the Studio Courses in Painting, ART HISTORY & AESTHETICS (B.V.A.
