Quote of the Month:

“Any fool can criticize, condemn & complain… and most do.”

~Dale Carnegie

Your Monthly Groan

Every year, Smitty and his wife Martha went to the State Fair. And every year, Smitty would say, "Martha, I'd like to ride in that there airplane." And every year, Martha would reply, "I know, Smitty, but that airplane ride costs ten dollars, and ten dollars is ten dollars."

This one year Smitty and Martha went to the fair and Smitty said, "Martha, I'm 71 years old. If I don't ride that airplane this year I may never get another chance. "

Martha replied, "Smitty, that there airplane ride costs ten dollars, and ten dollars is ten dollars."

The pilot overheard them and said, "Folks, I'll make you a deal. I'll take you both up for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and not say one word, I won't charge you, but if you say one word it's ten dollars." Smitty and Martha agreed, and up they went.

The pilot performed all kinds of twists and turns, rolls and dives, but not a word is heard. He even does a nose dive, pulling up 15 feet above the ground, but still not a word. They land and the pilot turns to Smitty, "By golly, I did everything I could think of to get you to yell out, but you didn't."

Smitty replied, "Well, I was gonna say something when Martha fell out, ...but ten dollars is ten dollars!"

______

A mother tells her little boy, "Johnny, you mustn't eat too many lollies or I'll hide the lolly jar." Johnny asks, "Why?" His mother says, "Because something bad will happen! Your tummy will blow up big like a balloon and then pop!" The next day at church, the boy is sitting next to a pregnant woman. He points to her belly smiling and says, "I know what you've been doing!" ______

An old man goes into the Social Security Office and fills out an application. Too old to have a birth certificate, he is asked to prove he is old enough. He opens his shirt and shows them the gray hair on his chest and they accept that as proof. He goes home to his wife, shows her the check, and explains to her what has happened. She replies, "Well get back down there, pull down your pants, and see if you can get disability! ______

Two blondes walk beside each other down the street. One of them sees a broken piece of mirror on the ground, grabs it, looks at it and says, "This girl looks so familiar, but I can't remember where I know her from." The other girl grabs it from her hand, takes a look at it, and says, "It's me you idiot!"

A little help goes a long way and now it’s even easier!

Just once a month at the larger dinners, the assigned building is asked to have a few people stay and help clear the tables of the centerpieces & wine glasses which are to be put on the U-shaped table in front of the opening in front of the kitchen. This will only take a few minutes but, the extra hands save quite a bit of time and allows “Our Cherubs” the ability to run the dishwasher, bring items back to storage and put things away. Just ten minutes of help goes a long way at the end of the night! I truly appreciate your assistance and look forward to seeing you at our events.

Buildings Assigned Each Month to assist with activities at the Grange!

October - Building 6 November - Building 7 December - Building 9 Volume VI; Issue X Page 13

Management reminders:.

 Greenhouse will be open this month. Please put your name & address on any plants you store, and make sure there is someone to water them.  October is Fire Prevention Month. Please make sure to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. Maintenance men are available after hours to assist you at your cost.  If you are leaving your unit for an extended period of time, please make sure your heat is on, as not to cause any issues, and that someone has a key to your unit in case of emergency. You may want to leave your cabinets under your sinks open as well, in case of freezing conditions.  For your safety, in case of power outages, please make sure you keep a flashlight readily available for your use and that you have batteries on hand.  Please be reminded, Handicap Parking is only for handicap visitors—not residents. If you need to park in this space in an emergency, you may only do so for a limited amount of time, AND you must contact the management office.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Halloween and hope you enjoy the Fall. The weather is crisp—time for sweaters & football! Enjoy this time of year with your friends & families!!!
