Dear Parents and Students,

Thank you so much for showing interest in becoming a member for the 2020-2021 show season! It means so much that you are considering us as a path for you to take. Being in CATS is such a special experience where you learn about the ins and outs of musical while also growing as a family unit.

We will be doing four shows next year. We will begin the year with two shows at . Yes, I know! Two shows at once?? Well, here is why. One act competition pieces are extremely difficult to do with a cast over 30. Therefore, we have decided to do a smaller cast for our one act piece. We will open up the auditions for this show to all drama classes and have a cast under 15 people. That does mean that not all of the CATS kids will be in the show. Henceforth, we decided to do a show strictly for the CATS group. The one-act piece will rehearse after school a few days out of the week while the CATS show will rehearse during CATS class.

Those shows are…… One Act: Peter and the Starcatcher; This show is a prelude to Peter Pan. It has tons of fun moments while also touching base into the world of emotional and mental issues. CATS One Act: : High School Edition; This show encapsulates the audition process. As we move forward into the fall, we will begin focus on our schoolwide musical. Yes, the schoolwide show will now be our winter musical with no pit orchestration.

The show is……’s: Cinderella! It’s the classic tale you know and love with a small amount of differences.

We will end our season with our CATS only spring musical! This show will have pit orchestration.

It is…….. The Hunchback of Notre Dame!!!!! A classic Disney tale about being different.

So, here is how our auditions are going to work! Attached to this email is the audition form. Please fill out the application and return it to [email protected] by May 1st.

The second part of the audition is a video. You will need to record yourself singing at least 1 minute of any song from a Broadway show that shows off their talent and range, 1 minute of a monologue with a slate, and 1 minute of a dance to any Broadway musical song that the student choreographs on their own. In total, the student will have at least a 3 minute video.

The video will need to be turned in by May 1st as well to the email listed above. You will be notified May 15th of our decision. If that date changes, you will be notified. Thank you so much for your interest!

Sincerely, Ms. B.
