Teatro Arcimboldi TEATRO DEGLI ARCIMBOLDI STAGIONE TEATRALE 2021 - 2022 mar. 21 settembre – dom. “Ruit hora”, dicevano i latini. Prezzo: Platea Gold € 80,50 – Platea Bassa € 69,00 - Platea Alta € 57,70 – Prima Galleria € 46,00 – Seconda Galleria € 34,50 Orari: martedì – sabato 21:00, domenica 18:00 Data del club: martedì 21 settembre – 21:00 mar. 5 ottobre - dom. 10 ottobre Musical Giulia Sol – Mirko Ranù Ghost – Il musical Un’appassionante storia d’amore capace di far sognare ancora oggi tutti noi. Prezzo: Platea Gold € 134,50 (€ 149,50) – Platea Bassa € 119,00 (€ 132,50) - Platea Alta € 83,00 (€ 92,00) – Prima Galleria € 52,00 (€ 57,50) – Seconda galleria € 31,00 (€ 34,50) Orari: venerdì 20:30, sabato 16:00 e 20:30, domenica 16:00 Data del club: sabato 23 ottobre – 21:00 ven. Prezzo: Platea VIP € 172,50 - Platea Gold € 126,50 – Platea Bassa € 92,00 - Platea Alta € 75,00 – Prima Galleria € 57,50 – Seconda galleria € 34,50 Orari: sabato 21:00, domenica 16:00 Data del club: venerdì 3 dicembre – 21:00 sab. 11 dicembre - dom.

Postfeminist Hegemony in a Precarious World: Lessons in Neoliberal Survival from RuPaul’s Drag Race By Phoebe Chetwynd1 Abstract The popularity of the reality television show RuPaul’s Drag Race is often framed as evidence of Western societies’ increasing tolerance towards queer identities. This paper instead considers the ideological cost of this mainstream success, arguing that the show does not successfully challenge dominant heteronormative values. In light of Rosalind Gill’s work on postfeminism, it will be argued that the show’s format calls upon contestants (and viewers) to conform to a postfeminist ideal that valorises normative femininity and reaffirms the gender binary.

It also aims to express how many forms of national mediation, professional negotiation and audience reception deeply modify, and re-shape the TV product. To tackle the manifold facets of this case, four aspects will be analyzed: (trans)national distribution; adaptation and dubbing; global/local stardom; reception and cultural impact. Over a decade, the Italian edition and distribution of the show have changed, together with the national media landscape and its audiences. Keywords: Italian television, media industries, reception studies, dubbing, stardom, celebrity 1 Introduction RuPaul’s Drag Race is a TV show, a reality competition with drag queen contestants performing and being evaluated by expert judges, which has reached the eleventh season and given birth to several extensions and spinoffs. In the US, the program has long been broadcast on linear channel Logo (2009-2016), and has then moved to VH1 (2017-), which is part of the same company, Viacom.

Snippets of Encouragement #252 Hello darlings It is day 252 of Snippets of Encouragement, and I need to share a dirty little secret with you. Well actually I don’t need to, but I will. It’s two dirty little secrets that I have. The first is I love watching car crash videos on the internet. Yeah right! Crazy, I know! After yesterday’s snippet, I have to admit this is a colossal waste of time, but I can’t seem to help myself. My other dirty little secret is I’m a huge fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race. As an avid fan, I even have top fan status on the Facebook page – yoohoo, go me! If you’re not familiar with this show, RuPaul Charles is a Drag Queen who has successfully managed to bring the drag subculture into mainstream culture and I for one love it. What I appreciate about this show and the art form is the incredible talent these performers have and the unbelievable artistry that goes into creating a drag persona, especially one the people love and admire. The eleventh season of this show has just finished, and from day one I was a massive fan of the winner Ms Yvie Oddly, which is the stage name of the performer Jovan Bridges. The minute he entered the workroom, it was clear to everyone that he was exactly what his name said, Odd! In fact, I’d say Yvie is exceptionally odd, and because of this he received extreme criticism and was even bullied by the other contestants.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is a competition-based reality TV show on Viacom’s Logo network, the self- labeled “gay epicenter of culture” (“About”, 2015). Combining elements of America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway, RuPaul’s Drag Race pits a cast of drag queens against one another in the quest to win the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” along with a cash prize of one hundred thousand dollars, a vacation, and a large supply of cosmetics. It is one of the most proftable and highly rated titles for the network (Baron 2015), so when it came time to promote the seventh season, Logo partnered with branded keyboard company Snaps Media to create a custom keyboard app for the show.1 Te free RPDRK app contained a series of custom emoji, stickers, and animated GIFs that featured the show’s most beloved cast members and memorable moments.
