to me

Dear Ms Fisk,

Thank you very much for your informative email, and please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you!

Caroline Pidgeon and the Liberal Democrats fully back the protection of green spaces within London and enhancing these even further. Green sites all over London are vitally important for a healthy city, and we should back the protection of these in Enfield too.

Caroline and the London Liberal Democrats are committed to enhancing the education system in London, using the to ensure that more schools are delivered as part of redevelopment and regeneration schemes throughout the city. However, this does not mean sacrifice of metropolitan Green Belt land.

I would, of course, prefer that in the first instance existing secondary schools are considered for expansion. It is extremely unfortunate that more suitable brownfield sites have not been considered first for any new school and housing development. If current expansion or brownfield sites are not an option, and Green Belt development is considered the only option available, then this must be done sensibly; with full consultation of all stakeholders and consideration of the impact on the Local Plan.

I support your campaign and if I am elected as the Member for Enfield & Haringey I will ensure that your concerns are raised in the London Assembly and challenge the Mayor to intervene in the plans. Furthermore, I would assist the campaign by challenging Enfield Council to ensure that the views of opponents of the scheme are brought to their attention.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate contacting me, and I wish you all the best of luck with your campaign. If I can help in any way, please do let me know.

Kind Regards,

Nicholas da Costa Liberal Democrat GLA Candidate for Enfield & Haringey @nick_dacosta [email protected]
