1912 - Founding of the Hungarian Royal University with the Faculty of Arts, Law, and Theology.

1950 – The Faculty of Science is established.

1951 - The university is divided in three parts (Academy of Theology, Medical School, University of Arts and Sciences).

2000 – All universities of the city are transformed into the unified University of Debrecen with all the customary faculties and 20,000 students Facts and Figures
