Hull’s health transformation

In 1948 the NHS was formed. At that time the Government declared a clear vision – to have a health centre in every community, that would bring together the different elements of healthcare and create easy access to services. Introduced nationally in 2000, the LIFT Programme aimed to do just that. NHS LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust) was a new approach aiming to improve the facilities that housed health care, social care and community services. citycare-developments.co.uk Chapter 1 - Hull’s health transformation 5

We needed to kick start the city’s regeneration The root of the problem

A snapshot of the city in 2002 clearly illustrated that a regeneration boost for Hull was vital.
