Body Swap Here Introducing NWRVR Created by 15-year-old musician River Codrington, NWRVR explores and expresses themes of identity, social injustice and climate change Hear what it feels like to be fifteen in 2020 Debut music video & single out now Watch Body Swap here NWRVR – BODY SWAP OUT NOW Announced today, 15-year-old musician River Codrington unveils a highly emotive, debut music video and single as NWRVR. Exploring issues of identity and how to find one’s place in the new decade, Body Swap is taken from the upcoming, 4-track EP The Train Is Coming. Teenage curiosity and identity are among the themes interrogated in the music of NWRVR. Having started writing music at the age of 10, River is a multi-faceted musician (trombonist, composer, pianist and vocalist) who moves effortlessly through genres, performing Jazz, pop, classical and folk and everything in-between. “NWRVR is a compost heap of all my experiences - all the things that matter to me. I wanted to make something that translated how I feel on the inside, onto the outside. So that’s what I tried to do. I think the music on the EP is basically about life. And as I only know about life from my own experience of it, it’s just that. People, politics, my head, the earth.” – River This first single is taken from the upcoming EP, The Train Is Coming. All four tracks on the EP were written and recorded this year at The Tower Studio in Hackney by NWRVR, in collaboration with producer Liam Howe. Liam formed ‘90s cult band Sneaker Pimps and has produced for Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, Marina and the Diamonds, Tom Vek, Jessie Ware, Adele, FKA Twigs among others. “Working with River to create this body of work has been a wonderful experience. It was inspiring to work with such a formidable young talent and I’m excited to see what comes next. Certainly an artist to keep a keen eye on.” – Liam Howe Working with a close-knit team of creatives, NWRVR’s music fuses artistic disciplines including film, art and design. The video for Body Swap is co-directed by Ross Clarke and Jade Danielle- Smith. And the coming weeks will see the release of a short film, also co-directed by Ross and Jade. Ross Clarke’s work includes feature-length movies The Bird Catcher and Desiree. Rebecca and Mike contributed the NWRVR logo, covers, other art ideas and provocations. I’m glad I did not donate towards it when he was doing the pledgemusic thing to raise funds to produce this. If the whole album sounded like the first song then I would have been happy but it is ok @ best for the rest of the album.

  • Mikky Ekko Has Come Home. He Recorded His 2015 Debut Album
Mikky Ekko has come home. He recorded his 2015 debut album, Time, in places as far-flung as London, Stockholm, and Los Angeles, plus any point on the compass where inspiration struck while he was on tour with Justin Timberlake, One Republic and Jessie Ware. But he wanted to record Fame, his next album, in the city that had proved both a permanent address and an inspiration for him since moving there in 2005 to attend college. It’s said that people have lucky cities, a geographic location where they seem to flourish or feel that they are their best selves. Although born in Shreveport, Louisiana, with its rich history of country rock and electric blues, Ekko found such a place in Nashville. It allowed him the freedom to be who he wanted to be — starting with those early gigs he played at 12th and Porter with slashes of red painted across his chiseled face. It informed the haunting music of his largely a cappella 2009 dreamscape Strange Fruit, a five-song EP he recorded while still a student at nearby Middle Tennessee State University that had far more in common with Brian Eno than it did Billie Holiday. A restless creator — sometimes writing two songs a day, starting most days at 4:45 am — Ekko quickly followed up Strange Fruit with two companion EPs the next year: Reds and Blues. One of the songs on Reds, "Who Are You, Really,” made its way to underground beatsmith Clams Casino, known mainly for his work with ASAP Rocky, Lil B and The Weeknd.

  • Mayor's Report March 2018
20th Mayor’s Report to the Assembly Mayor’s Question Time – 22nd March 2018 This is my twentieth Mayor’s Report to the Assembly, fulfilling my duty under Section 45 of the Greater London Authority Act 1999. It covers the period from 9th February – 8th March 2018. Executive summary £24 million for local communities to play a role in regeneration On 7 March I awarded £24 million of funding to projects from across the capital that will enable local people to take an active role in the regeneration of their communities. More than 200 bids for funding were made to my Good Growth Fund, delivered through the London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP), and 27 are now being taken forward, with several organisations receiving funding in the next few months. All of the successful projects will deliver social and economic improvements including investment in community assets, workspaces, green infrastructure and cultural venues. I am using this funding to challenge preconceptions about how regeneration takes place. I want to give all Londoners – regardless of background – the opportunity to be actively involved in their city and have more places to live, learn, work and play. The projects I announced funding for today will help us to tackle inequality, strengthen civil society, and ensure the benefits of regeneration are felt by all. Tackling the ‘injustice’ of pay inequality On 2 March, I stepped up the fight against pay inequality in the capital by publishing for the first time ever comprehensive data on the pay gap affecting Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) employees for all organisations in the Greater London Authority (GLA) Group, making it among the first employers in the country to do so.

The music video for this song is based on a Venn diagram in which four concepts intersect to form an orgasm, and it shows the singer ripping out an animated heart <1> . A Persian flute sample opens this track, and its singer references “the simulation we’re dreaming in”. • And Leo Taylor (Drums)
BIOGRAPHY 2016 The Invisible are comprised of Dave Okumu (singer / guitarist), Tom Herbert (bass / synthesiser) and Leo Taylor (drums). Their third album 'Patience' was released in June 2016 and features collaborations with Jessie Ware, Anna Calvi, Rosie Lowe, Connan Mockasin and Sam Shepherd (Floating Points). ‘Patience’ has received overwhelmingly positive album reviews across the board including a lead 5/5 review in The Guardian, 4 star reviews in The Observer and Q magazine, Sunday Times ‘album of the week’, Mixmag ‘album of the month’ and Metro ’the big release. Their eponymous debut, was nominated for the 2009 Mercury Music Prize was also critics’ choice as iTunes album of the year. It won peer level praise from the likes of Radiohead's Ed O'Brien, Foals, Hot Chip, Wild Beasts, Anna Calvi and Everything Everything. Their second album, 'Rispah', was, in the words of Okumu, “a love letter to grief.” Mid- way through recording a follow-up to their debut, Okumu’s mother passed away and the band’s plans and aesthetic were thrown into turmoil. As Okumu remembers it, “I couldn't engage with music for a long period”. The reception of the album was further complicated when Okumu was electrocuted while playing onstage in Lagos, Nigeria, which set back promotional and live activities while he recovered - it’s possible that his life was only saved because Tom removed the guitar from his hands. It’s certain that it was a hugely dangerous incident which he was lucky to survive. The album was, though, rapturously received, this “remarkable” record (The Times) being described as “an astonishing redemptive arc brighter than any rainbow” (Mojo) and “incredibly uplifting and moving” (Vice), amongst many other superlatives.
