The culturally responsive, closed-loop referral system that coordinates, tracks, and responds to the self-identified social needs of vulnerable families in Dane County, with a specific focus on reducing racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in well-being. Total Amount: $1,020,000 2020-2022 Role: Academic Partner/Lead Evaluator (no effort) Title: Innovative State and Local Public Health Strategies to Prevent and Manage Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Stroke Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention via Wisconsin Department of Health Services Summary: This grant funds rigorous evaluation to build the evidence base for innovative strategies to mitigate the burden of diabetes and heart disease, with emphasis on evaluation of novel approaches aimed at reducing risks and complications in high burden populations and communities. In concert with our co-occurring evaluation of Wisconsin’s Adolescent Health Program and Adolescent Health Systems Building Initiative, this evaluation incorporates comparative effectiveness evaluation of comprehensive vs risk-avoidance approaches to adolescent sexual education and positive youth development. Current Year Amount: $345,933 2016-2021 PI: Lindberg (10% effort) Title: Evaluation of Wisconsin’s Rape Prevention & Education (RPE) Program Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention via Wisconsin Department of Health Services Summary: This grant supports independent monitoring and evaluation of sexual violence prevention programs administered through Wisconsin’s implementation of the federal RPE program Current Year Amount: $106,000 2019-2022 PI: Lindberg (Multiple) (1% effort) Title: Healthy Policy for Wisconsin Communities Source: Wisconsin Partnership Program, Community Impact Grant Summary: The Health Policy for Wisconsin Communities project aims to improve health and health equity at the community level by implementing a Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach, a proven framework for comprehensive and collaborative government action. Through a partnership with two existing networks — one of academic partners and a second of local governments and non-governmental organizations — the project aims to embed consideration of health and equity within the regular operation of city, village and county departments and staff.
