Dear Neighbour

Tram track renewal work – Lower Road

In April, during the school Easter holiday, we will be renewing the tram track where it crosses Lower Addiscombe Road in . Work will take place between Addiscombe and Blackhorse Lane tram stops, and for approximately 20 metres along the tram track either side of the crossing point.

This work forms part of our ongoing modernisation programme and will improve the condition of the track, to help make tram services more reliable.

Please see below for important information about working times, noise disruption, road closures and temporary changes to tram and bus services as a result of this work.

Working times Work will take place 24 hours per day, over six days, as follows. Please note dates include the public holidays of Good Friday and Easter Monday: • Friday 2 April to Wednesday 7 April inclusive

In advance of this we will spend time preparing for the work, setting up our site and taking deliveries of materials. This activity will take place at night, as follows: • Saturday 27 March to Thursday 1 April, between 23:00 and 04:00

Following the six day closure (2-7 April), further work may be required at night between Friday 9 April and Sunday 2 May to complete work not finalised within the closure.

Noisy work The track will be renewed through the new-for-old replacement of the rails and track points. This will include cutting and breaking out tarmac and concrete using construction machines and hand-held mechanical tools. Due to the nature of the work, noise will be generated.
