The Executive Board met in the office of the Kansas State High School Activities Association on Wednesday and Thursday, Janu- ary 15-16, 2020, with the following in attendance: President Alan Stein, Shannon Haydock, Deena Horst, Mike Kastle, Penny Lane, Monty Marlin, Pam McComas, Mark Meyer, Roger Perkins, Matt Renk, Greg Rosenhagen, Ken Stonebraker, and Bill Faflick, Executive Director. The meeting of the Appeal Board was held in the office of the Kansas State High School Activities Association on Thursday, September 12, 2019.

Roll Call: Members present were Loren Feldkamp, Jeff Koelzer, Sonya Martin, Tom Mitchell and Jason Walker. Members Brian Fitch, Travis Githens, and David Morford were absent. All present Appeal Board members confirmed a signed an Oath of Office is on file in the KSHSAA office.

Call to Order: Jason Walker, chairperson, called the meeting to order at 1:02 p.m. Sonya Martin served as recording secretary. Jason Walker, vice-chairperson, served as chairperson for Travis Githens who was absent. Sonya Martin served as recording secretary and Loren Feldkamp as alternate recording secretary. These officer positions will remain in place until such election is necessary.

Purpose of Appeal: Andrew Groene, Athletic Director at Shawnee Mission-Bishop Miege High School, requested a hearing with the Appeal Board on behalf of Bishop Miege student Jaylen Burch. The appeal is from the November 20, 2019 eligibility determination by the Executive Board in accordance with Undue Influence Rule 19-1-2(c).

Appeal Board Decision: Motion by Feldkamp, to uphold the ruling of the Executive Board in accordance with Undue Influence Rule 19, Section 1, Article 2(c). The motion died due to a lack of second. Motion by Mitchell, second by Martin, to overturn the ruling of the Executive Board in accordance with Undue Influence Rule 19, Section 1, Article 2(c). The vote was 3 to 2 in favor of overturning the ruling by the Executive Board. The student is approved for eligibility per rule based on undue influence. The meeting was adjourned at 2:10 p.m.
