NEA Announces First Round of FY13 Art Works and Challenge America Grants

The NEA has announced the first round of funding for Fiscal Year 2013 totaling $23.3 million awarded through 832 Art Works grants to not-for-profit arts organizations nationwide. In addition 153 Challenge America Fast-Track grants totaling $1.53 million were awarded to organizations in 41 states, Washington, DC, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In this round of funding, 118 Art Works grants were awarded to TCG Member totaling $3,640,000. Art Works funding is awarded to not-for-profit arts organizations and supported projects span 13 artistic disciplines and fields and focus primarily on the creation of work and presentation of both new and existing works for the benefit of American audiences. One Challenge America Fast-Track Grant went to a TCG Member , totaling $10,000. The Challenge America Fast-Track category offers support primarily to small and mid-sized organizations for projects that extend the reach of the arts to populations whose opportunities to experience the arts are limited by geography, ethnicity, economics, or disability.
