Diane Cheeseman graduated from Butler University Annie Deutz is proud to be originally from Marshall, with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance. Prairie Dance Alliance of Southwestern Minnesota is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of education in the art of dance. PDA provides a dance camp for dancers and instructors looking for a summer camp that is well structured, organized, detail oriented, packed with high energy sessions, warm-ups, and focused technique. Our camp curriculum focuses on challenging, motivating, and inspiring the growth and development of dancers. The highly trained professional instructors come from across the country to provide students with an exceptional and unforgettable experience.

2013 Instructors:

Diane Cheeseman graduated from Butler University with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance. Training: The Ailey School (NYC), Broadway Dance Center (NYC), Kirov Academy (Washington, D.C.), Rimsky- Korsakov Conservatory (Russia). Companies: Hart Pulse Dance Company, Kenneth Walker Dance Project, Kybele Dance Theater, Feld Entertainment, Walt Disney Entertainment. Guest: Avenue Act One, La Danserie, Movement Theater Co/Lab, Polish National Ballet. Diane currently resides in Los Angeles and teaches all levels of ballet and modern.

Jessica Fay is a versatile performer, choreographer, and educator with extensive training in ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theatre dance. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Dance and choreographer for the American Spirit Dance Company at Oklahoma City University. Jessica has a wide array of professional performance experiences including variety shows in Branson, featured roles with the Minnesota Ballet, and the Summer Olympic Games. She performed in a handful of professional musicals, at Disney World, dinner theatres, and half-time shows. One of the highlights of Jessica's performance career was dancing with a United States Goodwill Ambassador tour to Russia, Estonia, and Latvia. Jessica hails from Minnesota where she began her early training with Charlotte Wendel. She received scholarships to pursue additional training with the Minnesota Ballet and the Zenon Dance Company. Jessica holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Oklahoma City University. She served as artistic director and sole choreographer for her original dance production, Shades of Love. Jessica continues to expand her education and training of dance and most recently spent time in New York City at the . After intensive study, Jessica is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 7 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

Zac Hammer began his dance training at age ten with Charlotte Wendel and Densil Adams. During his early training, he apprenticed with Ballet Oklahoma, under the direction of Bryan Pitts. In 2007, Zac graduated summa cum laude with a BFA in dance performance from Southern Methodist University,

where his original choreography was produced as part of the mainstage season. He has been cast in numerous industrials, and is a nationally recognized teacher of ballet, modern, and jazz. From 2007 to 2010, Zac toured both abroad and domestically with the world-renowned dance company, Parsons Dance, and for the past three years has been a dancer in the New York City cast of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Other New York companies include the Nicholas Andre Dance Company, Amy Marshall Dance Company, dre.dance, and Alison Chase Performance. He continues to dance, teach and

choreograph throughout the country.

Instructors:

Alex Karigan was raised in Dallas, Texas and began her dance training at Dallas Dance Academy, the official school of . She continued her dance training at Southern Methodist University graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance Performance. While attending SMU, she showcased her original choreography in multiple concerts as well as danced works by Martha Graham, , William Forsythe, Marius Petipa, Anna Sokolow, and Alison Chase. Alex is currently a company member of Amy Marshall Dance Company (AMDC). With AMDC, she has the privilege to tour around the world and teach dance to students of all ages. Alex is excited to be coming to Marshall with Zac to work with our dancers.

While at SMU he danced works by Martha Graham, Paul Taylor, William Forsythe, Joost Antoine Vrouenraets, Agnes DeMille and Alison Chase.

Recently Zac joined Nicholas Andre Dance, Amy Marshall Dance Company, and dre.dance. He performed in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular the last two seasons and our Nutcracker in 2011.

Ellie Potts Barrett trained at Boston Conservatory and graduated with a B.A. in Dance from the

University of South Florida and is a highly sought after teacher/choreographer by national dance organizations, professional theatre companies, schools, colleges and private dance studios. Ellie danced with the Ina Hahn Modern dance Company, Boston Dance Company and Mary Anthony in New York, and has been an associate at the Atlantic Center for the Arts to Master Artists Merce Cunningham, Meg Harper and Elizabeth Streb. She is a faculty member for Dance Olympus/Dance America, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Flagler College in St. Augustine, the School of Performing Arts in Orlando and The Dance Company in St. Augustine.

Aleutian Calabay has been dancing and performing since he was a wee lad. He has studied ballet, jazz, and lyrical, although his specialty is tap. Aleutian is a charter member of the Keane Sense of

Rhythm Youth Tap Ensemble. He has performed in the Chicago Human Rhythm Project JUBA Festival and at Rhythm Explosion in Montana. As part of the KSR International Touring Company, he performed in Poland in 2006 and in Beijing, China as well as Amori, Japan in December 2007. Most recently, he

performed in Fleet, sponsored by the Walker Art Studio. Aleutian has studied with many tap masters, including Lane Alexander, Dianne Walker, Gene Medler, Sam Weber, Jimmy Slyde, Savion Glover, Jason Samuels Smith and others. Aleutian loves to share his passion with others through teaching and performing.

Krysten Hill , a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music, teaches throughout the Atlanta area. She has trained at The School of Orlando Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and the Paul Taylor School. Ms. Hill served as the Director of Dance for Georgia’s Governor’s Honors Program from 2007 to 2009. She currently teaches at The Georgia Ballet School. Krysten also works nationally with Dance Olympus/Dance America. Ms. Hill recently retired from performing with The Georgia Ballet. We are welcoming Krysten back for her second year of instructing at our camp.

Kaleena Miller is a Minneapolis-based tap dancer, choreographer and teacher. She currently dances with Rhythmic Circus Production's Feet Don't Fail Me Now! and Keane Sense of Rhythm. Kaleena has choreographed for groups such as: Rhythmic Circus, Keane Sense of Rhythm's Youth Tap Ensemble, and St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, and also hosts the live music and tap dance project The Cutting Board. In addition to being a former member of Ten Foot Five's Buckets and Tap Shoes, Kaleena has shared the stage with Heather Cornell and Roxane Butterfly. She is a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a BFA in Dance and is a 2007 Sage Award Winner for People's Choice.

Tommy Scrivens is a Florida native, where he trained at New Tampa Dance Theatre. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a BFA in dance performance in 2005. While training, he has had the opportunity to work with many world-renowned choreographers and dancers. He has performed with Columbus Dance Theater contemporary , in the United Kingdom tour of Tap Fusion, as a guest artist with BalletMet, Columbus, Collide, and Parsons Dance. He is currently dancing with dre.dance, Nicholas Andre Dance and marInspired. In addition, Tommy has taught master classes all over the world including Brazil, China, and Russia. In the US he has taught at Peridance, Broadway Dance Center, Ohio State University, Adelphi University, Manhattenville College, and many dance studios across the nation. He is currently teaching in studios in New Jersey and Queens and judging and offering master classes with Dancer's Inc. dance competition.
