The Toshiba TG01 Press Release 3 March 2009 Exclusive launch with O2: The Toshiba TG01 • Slimmest Smartphone in the world with 4.1-inch display • Image-tuning technology from the Toshiba LCD-TV segment • Extremely easy operation thanks to newly developed interface MUNICH. This summer, Telefónica O2 Germany will begin marketing the new, ultra-slim, powerful Toshiba TG01 Smartphone in Germany exclusively. With its 4.1-inch sized touch-screen display and a three-dimensional user interface developed by Toshiba, this cell phone delivers mobile multimedia applications in previously unheard-of quality. Thanks to support for HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE, GPS and A-GPS as well as its intuitive operation, the TG01 is a real all- round talent. Just a mere 9.9 mm thick, this is currently the slimmest Smartphone in the world. The TG01 comes with more than just one superlative as its claim to fame. In addition to the largest display, the 1 GHz processor used also makes it the most powerful of all the Smartphones currently on the market. It integrates GPS and 3G connectivity on a single chip and provides for the particularly powerful, efficient delivery of multimedia contents. In the development of the display, Toshiba took advantage of the company’s previous experience in the LCD-TV segment to equip the cell phone to serve up super-sharp images with brilliant colors. “The Toshiba TG01 was one of the highlights at the Mobile World Congress and is currently the most interesting new Smartphone on the market,” comments Lutz Schüler, Managing Director Marketing & Sales at Telefónica O2 Germany. “Starting in the summer, we will be offering our customers a cell phone that combines multimedia capability and office functionalities perfectly with powerful performance and high efficiency. Among other things, the TG01 also features gesture operations, i.e. incoming calls can be answered by simply giving the device a quick shake or the user can navigate between opened applications by tilting the TG01 to the right or the left.
