7 Some general info...
- 3rd smallest region in Italy - ‘Lyki’ (Lucani) planted the vines - Weather is quite cold, with high excursions between day/night & seasons => best of both worlds ! (Southern Sun + Northern temperatures) - In between Puglia and Calabria...but culturally very independent. (Switzerland of Southern Italy) - 1 wine carries the region (Aglianico del Vulture) - Volcanic soils, altitude and temps...one of the most unique terroirs in Italy - Obscurity for the entire middle-ages, due to small presence of Catholic Church -> Norman presence - Mostly unknown...but discovered thanks to Aglianico del Vulture.

- Vineyards are found at an altitude of 650 and 800 meters (2133 – 2624 feet) above sea level
