PWD, Govt. of Delhi KALINDI BYE-PASS PROJECT Welcome to 45th meeting of the Governing Body UTTIPEC PWD, Govt. of Delhi KALINDI BYE-PASS PROJECT being planned by PWD, Govt. of Delhi Project Features • The proposed Kalindi Kunj road is located in south eastern part of Delhi connecting from Maharani Bagh near Noida toll bridge to Badarpur border • This bypass is planned to decongest National Highway-2 (NH-2) and to alleviate the traffic of ring road • Based on preliminary alignment plans, the project road is 14 km Background • The need of this Project was identified long back and work on ground was also started in 2006 • A solution for the clogged DND interchange and ring road section is required. • Kalindi bypass is the bypass of NH-2 from Ashram chowk in Delhi to Ballabhgarh in Haryana. It starts from Ring road near DND flyway and terminate at Border near Faridabad via Kalindi kunj (Road no-13A) • It will also share the traffic of Road No-13A (Kalindi Kunj-Sarita Vihar) which make the smooth traffic flow near Border area. By Considering the excess of problems and its significance, it becomes very important to monitor noise level on routine basis to plan its mitigative measures. In this study, the noise levels have been monitored and identified at various zones of South Delhi. In this study South Delhi has been divided into four different zones viz. Industrial Zone (Okhla Industrial Area), Commercial Zone (Nehru Place), Residential Zone (Shaheen Bagh) and Sensitive Zone (Apollo Hospital). Every zone sub-divided into three locations for noise monitoring and analysis. The noise levels have been monitored using SL-4001 Sound Level meter from 9:00AM to 9:00PM. Noise levels have been monitored in every zone at identified three different locations for day time (12 hours). Its results and analysis are showing the noise levels of sensitive zone are alarming; however, the Industrial locations noise level is touching the prescribed close to permissible limits in day time.
