And it seems unlikely that students already in the pipeline will be doing much better. Given the demands of today’s global economy, this situation is nothing short of a crisis. Fortunately, we can start addressing the problem right now. Results from the programs in ACT’s Educational Planning and Assessment System show the clear relationship between the rigor of the high school coursework students take and their readiness for college and the workplace.
