Please Note: · Correct Show dress must be worn in both the Showing Ring and the Cattle Parade. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of prize money. · Show Preparation and Judging Rules: Exhibitors are warned that any form of enhancing udders including gluing or insertion of foreign objects, will lead to immediate disqualification and will be reported to the relevant Breed Society. The Society reserves the right to report the offence as an act of animal cruelty to the Police on site. If, in the opinion of a Veterinary Officer, tampering of any animal is proven, the Exhibitor will be escorted off the premises. All refundable fees or prize money due will automatically be forfeit in all sections and classes at the same show, for all breeds and species of animal.

The Newark & Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society has a zero tolerance policy for any such incidents and will ban offenders from all future Society shows.

DAIRY COW HEALTH & WELFARE In- or In-calf No cow, unless in-milk or in-calf, will be eligible for a prize. If in-milk she must be certified either at the date of entry, or between the date of entry and that of the Show, to have a living calf or that the calf, if dead, was born at its proper time within 12 months preceding the date of the Show. A formal certificate to this effect must be signed by the Exhibitor. The date of last calving must be entered on the certificate.

No cow, or heifer, entered as in-calf, will be eligible for a prize unless the expected date of calving is entered on the entry form. All cows or heifers entered for competition as in-calf must calve within four calendar months of the first day of the Show, except where otherwise specially dated under their Class conditions.

In the in-milk classes of all Breeds, the judges may, at their discretion, order any or all of the Exhibits in a Class to be milked out in the judging ring.

Milk and Butterfat Records In all Classes or Sections, where Lactation Records are required to qualify for entry, an Exhibitor must give the necessary yields on the entry form or, if this is not possible at the time of entry, supply this information to the Secretary before the opening of the Show. The Society reserves the right to call upon Exhibitors at any time to prove the correctness of the information given and, if it shall be proved to the satisfaction of the Council of the Society, whose decision shall be final, that any Exhibitor has knowingly signed an incorrect certificate or supplied false information, all awards made to such Exhibitor in any class may be cancelled and they may be disqualified from exhibiting at future Shows of the Society. Clean Milk Production A milking parlour is provided and waste is collected.

Cleanliness Exhibitors and Stockmen are requested, in the interests of hygiene and public relations, to comply with the Milk and Dairy Regulations 1959. Exhibitors should provide clean, washable outer clothing and head covering, foremilk cups and udder- washing equipment.

Sealing of Teats No animal shall have its teats sealed or its udder faked in any way. Any infringement of this rule will result in disqualification of the animal concerned and the Exhibitor shall be reported to the Council. Prize money will be paid on the day. Vouchers will be issued with rosettes and prize cards in the judging ring. Prize money may be collected from the Ice Events cash point located by the Main Ring.

Vouchers not redeemed on the day may be presented to the Society Office for payment from May 13th - May 31st, 2019.

Please Note: The General Public will have access to the Cattle housing from 8.00 am Saturday and from 8.00am on Sunday.

ALL DAIRY BREEDS Conditions: All animals must be registered in, or entered, for the Herd Book of the there breed Society, or an officially approved Herd book in a Member State.

NOTE: In the event of less than 4 entries or 2 separate exhibitors being received for any individual Classes, entries received will either be amalgamated within this section or be transferred to Any Other Dairy Native Breeds.

NO PRIZE MONEY s886 The Dairy and British Native Breeds Show Team Awards These awards will be judged in the Dairy Marquee Lines, covering such aspects as the presentation and welfare of the Dairy and British Native Breeds of cattle, cleanliness of the lines, marketing and promotion of the herd and staff associated with each herd. Exhibitors may use advertising material in accordance with the Rules of the Show. All Dairy Breed Exhibitors who are members of their respective Breed Society will be eligible to compete.

THE DAM & DAUGHTER AWARD
