Do you know that according to the National Sleep Foundation sleep deprivation and its effect on work performance may be costing US employers some $ 18 billion each year in lost productivity? Sleep is a necessity, not a luxury. We cannot “cheat” on the amount of sleep we get as sleep deprivation adds up over time, an hour less per night is like a full night without sleep. Templenoe rowing club A great season was had by the crews from Templenoe with 11 crews taking to the waters of south mid Kerry and Cork. The U12 girls, our youngest crew on the water had a fantastic start to their rowing career’s winning gold in 4 races in Kerry and placing 2nd in the All Ireland coastal rowing championships which were held in Courtmacsherry Co. Cork this year. Great effort by our U16 boys and girls, with the girls just missing out on a bronze by 1 second at the All . Minor girls had some great wins in Templenoe and Valentia regattas. The minor boys crew who didn’t do much rowing at the Traditional boat races in Kerry this year but they put it all into the one design all Ireland championships winning their race in great style! The senior crews didn’t collect much silverware this year but rowed with great enthusiasm and had lots of fun none the less. The Seine Boat crew started this season off on a high winning the first race in , they then had some battles out on the water to try and place first again. Unfortunately the Sneem crew was too strong for any other crew out on the water. This saw the Templenoe Seine boat finishing up in 2nd place in the Kerry league. A huge thank you too our coxswains with special mention to Christopher Harrington and Donald O’Shea who are both retiring from rowing for the next year (we hope to see them back in the future) As always none of this would be possible without our sponsors, parents, boat lifters, boat trailer drivers and anyone else that helped out during the year many many thanks, hope to see you all back next year!
