The village itself has a charming pub, the Neeld Arms, as well as a church, cricket club and former mansion, now Grittleton House School. The village lies on the edge of the Badminton Estate, famous for the internationally renowned horse trails and the Duke of Beaufort’s Hunt. We believe it was built between 1840 and 1850 by J Thomson for Joseph Neeld. This impressive Gothic revival style property is built of Cotswold stone under a stone tiled roof with a handsome façade and original bell tower still in situ.

Over the past two years the current owners have undertaken an incredible restoration project transforming this dilapidated 19th Cen- tury lodge house into a stylish country retreat. Many of the proper- ty’s original features have been retained and beautifully restored such as window and door shutters, stone mullion leaded light windows, architraves and stone fireplace.

The accommodation which is arranged over two floors has an amazing kitchen with beautiful bespoke handmade units with granite worktops, a 3 oven electric Aga along with an Aga fridge/freezer and integrated appliances. Off the kitchen is a charming garden room with arched leaded light windows. The dining hall has a feature fire- place and French doors which open out into the garden. The large sitting room is triple aspect with a Cotswold stone working fireplace and a stunning spiral staircase leading up to the first floor. Gardens and grounds The garden to the front of the property is split into 3 parts and divided by high box hedges; the middle section has a mirrored pond. To one side of the property is a unique cloister walkway giving access to the front and rear garden. The rear garden is mainly laid to lawn and bordered by mature trees and deep herbaceous beds.
