    Four Named NAIA Scholar-Athletes for Volleyball Volleyball - Fri, Nov. 30, 2012 NAIA Scholar-Athletes PORTSMOUTH – Four members of the Shawnee State volleyball team have been named NAIA Scholar- Athletes. Janine Grey, Holly Tobias, Hannah Gephart and Kirsti Yates were all honored with the academic award. This award comes on top of all four being named Academic All-MSC. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be in their junior year and have maintained a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. Each of these four student-athletes are earning the award for the first time in their careers. Grey and Tobias are the two seniors to earn the award. Grey is majoring in Photography, while Tobias is majoring in exercise science. Two juniors, Gephart and Yates, also earned the award. Gephart is an exercise science major, while Yates is majoring in biology. Three Honored as All-MSC Selections for Volleyball Volleyball - Sun, Nov. 11, 2012 MSC Release PORTSMOUTH – Following a complete team turnaround that saw volleyball double its win total from 11 to 22 this season, three individuals were honored as All-MSC selections at the conference banquet. Alex Pohl and Kirsti Yates were named first-team All-MSC selections, while Paige Zelich earned honorable mention All-MSC honors. For Pohl, the honor was the first time she was selected to the first team after earning honorable mention accolades in each of her past two seasons. Shawnee State's all-time leading blocker finished with 385 blocks for her career. This broke the previous mark by 10. This past season, Pohl finished second on the team with 85 blocks, including a team- high 31 solo blocks.
