September 2010 Newsletter www.deepcreekflyfishers.org P.O. Box 8203, Redlands, CA 92375 Wednesday September 22nd starting @ 7:00pm It’s Member’s Night! That‟s right it‟s Member‟s Night , and this Month‟s Speaker is YOU! So bring us pictures and stories about all the places you went this year. I have a few doozies and I bet you do too. Your presentation doesn‟t have to be fancy. You can even use the old fashion method of bringing in pictures and passing them around. That way there‟s no buttons to push or technology to fail. If you are planning on bringing digital format, please get to the clubhouse around 6:00pm, so we can be sure to get you all set up and ready to go by the time the meeting starts. I look forward to seeing (Continued on page 3) A beetle named Popcorn, a midge called Root Beer, and a Moon Spoon?? 2 (Continued from page 1) you there on my most favorite night of all! This is one of my favorite meeting nights be- cause I get to see all the great places you have been, share in you adventures, and believe your stories of what got away! Whether you went to Alaska, Montana, or Mongolia, or local waters, it doesn‟t matter. Many of us don‟t know about these places, and would love to learn about them and see pictures. I‟m here bugging everyone again, and telling you that it‟s not to late to get in a few good pic- tures. We all want to see them and hear about the fish you caught, almost caught and wish you could have caught. Cathlene Fishman, Vice President 3 Time is getting short for 2010 and before you know it, the next year will be upon us. As we all know, our club is only as good as the people we have working for us. We are currently searching for a new Vice President, and Educa- tion Director to serve in 2011where Cathlene Fishman and Mike Wright will leave off. I don‟t want to make light of any of the dedicated hard working members that have helped to make this Club as great as it is today. But as we all know Mike Wright, our newest “Life Member” has worked very hard in all the positions he has held. Perhaps more jobs than any other person ever has for Deep Creek Fly Fishers. I believe you can only expect so much from a Volunteer, but Mike is the exception to that rule. That‟s why it is so hard for me to say good bye to Mike Wright as a member of Board of Directors, and Education Director with Deep Creek Fly Fishers. I know we will still have the pleasure of his company on the stream. I hope you will re- Hello again everyone! lax and have fun my friend. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health. This month the Club‟s Board of Director‟s will be Ron Bishop, President working hard on plans for our annual Holiday Banquet. Our Club‟s Vice President, Cathleen Fishman has been work- ing hard on this event for some time now and it promises to be an event well worth attending. The Banquet Dinner and Silent Auction has always been our Club‟s biggest source of income for the year, and with the work Cathlene is doing along with the help of our Board of Director‟s, it‟s sure to be successful once again. It could be our best Banquet to date! More of the details will be announced soon.
