BETTE MIDLER Udsender 2015-11-06 16:00 CET BETTE MIDLER udsender "A GIFT OF LOVE" d. 4. december ! BETTE MIDLER SHARES THE LOVE A Gift Of Love Highlights Love Songs From the Grammy-Winning Singer’s Studio Albums And Soundtrack Recordings 18-Track Collection Will Be Available On December 4 Bette Midler has been singing her way into people’s hearts since her debut album, The Divine Miss M (1972), became a platinum-seller and helped the singer win her first Grammy® Award. Since then, she has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and earned the distinction as only the second female singer to score a Top 10 album in five consecutive decades. Throughout her career, Midler has demonstrated a remarkable musical range, but many of her signature hits have focused on matters of the heart. That’s why Rhino will bring together 18 of her best love songs for a new collection A GIFT OF LOVE, available on December 4 on CD and digitally. After Atlantic Records president Ahmet Ertugun discovered Midler in 1972, the irrepressible singer with the unmistakable voice went on to enjoy an amazing career that continues to this day. This new collection includes highlights from albums she recorded for both Atlantic Records and Warner Bros. between 1976 and 2014. The earliest recording on the new album is “Let Me Just Follow Behind,” which Midler recorded for her third album, Songs for the New Depression (1976). The most recent tracks — “(Talk To Me Of) Mendocino” and “The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game” — come from the sessions for Midler’s smash tribute to female trios It’s the Girls and are previously unreleased outside of the U.S. This new collection spotlights a number of incredibly poignant tracks, like her cover of Marshall Crenshaw’s “My Favorite Waste Of Time” from No Frills (1983); “Every Road Leads Back To You” from the soundtrack to her film For the Boys (1991); “Shining Star” from Bette (2000); plus five tracks from her platinum release Bette of Roses (1995), including “It’s Too Late” and “As Dreams Go By.” A GIFT OF LOVE would not be complete without three of Midler’s biggest hits: “The Rose” from the 1979 film of the same name in which Midler starred; the #1 Grammy-winning smash “Wind Beneath My Wings” from another Midler film, Beaches; and “From A Distance,” from her double-platinum album Some People’s Lives (1990). A GIFT OF LOVE Track Listing 1.“Favorite Waste Of Time” 2.“In This Life” 3.“The Gift Of Love” 4.“Bed Of Roses” 5.“From A Distance” 6.“Wind Beneath My Wings” 7.“Come Rain Or Come Shine” 8.“The Rose” 9.“As Dreams Go By” 10.“It’s Too Late” 11.“All I Need To Know” 12.“Every Road Leads Back To You” 13.“Shining Star” 14.“To Deserve You” 15.“Night And Day” 16.“(Talk To Me Of) Mendocino” 17.“The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game” 18.“Let Me Just Follow Behind” Kontaktpersoner Las Thomsen Promotion Manager Promotion på DK og intl. artister [email protected].

  • Michael Jackson the Man and the Message
Michael Jackson The Man and the Message Getting to know his greatest concerns through his own words “I really do wish people could understand me some day.” Michael Jackson The following text consists of quotes that are taken from radio and TV interviews, speeches and public statements, poems and reflections, song lyrics, handwritten notes and letters. The earliest quote is from 1972, the latest from 2009. Since the media rather concentrated on questions in terms of gossip and scandal, this compilation should provide an opportunity to get a more complete impression of Michael Jackson's message and his most important concerns... L O V E There are two kinds of music. One comes from the strings of a guitar, the other from the strings of the heart. One sound comes from a chamber orchestra, the other from the beating of the heart's chamber. One comes from an instrument of graphite and wood, the other from an organ of flesh and blood. This loftier music [...] is more pleasing than the notes of the most gifted composers, more moving than a marching band, more harmonious than a thousand voices joined in hymn and more powerful than all the world's percussion instruments combined. That is the sweet sound of love. Human knowledge consists not only of libraries of parchment and ink – it is also comprised of the volumes of knowledge that are written on the human heart, chiseled on the human soul, and engraved on the human psyche. Food is something we all need physically, but so is love, the deeper nourishment, that turns us into who we are.

  • Tiny Cottager Fall 2019
Issue No. 54 Fall/Winter 2019-20 PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE by PAUL COWLEY, CARUSOE BAY My message to you this fall must begin the same way it did last spring, with a continued focus on the threat to our precious water in the Alliston aquifer complex — scientifically proven to be possibly the purest water in the world. The lessons learned from Dump Site 41 are seemingly short-lived and need to be aggressively revisited. CRH (owner of the Teedon Gravel Pit) seeks to expand the existing pit operations northward into French’s Hill — a primary recharge area for the aquifer. This application (also challenged by the township) is now proceeding to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT), a successor to the Ontario Municipal Board. CRH also seeks to renew a water taking per- mit that allows it to use millions of litres of water a day for aggregate washing. This threatens our aquifer. Governments Photo by JUDITH GRANT at all levels have so far not acknowledged this threat, much less dealt with it. One of many gravel-laden trucks that leave Teedon Pit daily Please read Dr. William Shotyk’s letter to Simcoe Council on this, and Judith Grant’s article on page 5. It was released on the first day of 1969, the same day the Ohio State beat the University of Southern California at the Rose Bowl for the National College Football Championship. It was her 21st studio album. There were dozens more still to come. You know them. Black Gold, Baltimore, Fodder on My Wings, stacks of albums. By the time we met up with Nina again for these nine songs, she had already talked about on “Mississippi Goddamn”, “Backlash Blues,” and “Strange Fruit,” and been about it with her activism, lived, spoken, suffered for. To Love Somebody is an oral representation of what breathing on a track means.
