Women in Leadership Summit and the Celebration of the Women’s Resource Center’s 30th Anniversary

March 1-2, 2018 Meet, network and learn from leaders while celebrating!

Day 1

The first day of the Summit will feature coffee talks and classroom presentations. These sessions will educate students on the management, operations, customers and competitors of organizations . Guests will share stories of day to day operations, large deals and events, client interactions, and key challenges and achievements in their careers.

In the evening, a Women in Leadership Dinner will be held with students in a variety of leadership positions on campus. In addition, Bucknell will celebrate The 30th Anniversary of its Women's Resource Center “Inspired by Women, Empowered for All” with a Gala following dinner.

Day 2

The second day will feature a panel discussion on leadership moderated by Amy Badal, Bucknell Dean of Students. The panelists will share their definition of leadership, how leadership skills are developed, and key factors contributing to their growth as a leader. There will be time to share career snapshots, coaching and advice, as well as significant insights into the roles they play in their organizations and the impact of those roles on their organizations and industries overall. Panelists will discuss how their undergraduate experience (where applicable) at Bucknell helped them to prepare for their careers.

Lisa Domanowski ’00, Program Director, Moog Inc. Located in Dana Engineering Room 227 Future engineers, come and meet Lisa to discuss how to stand out as a leader in an organization as a newly minted engineer. This includes building relationships within your sphere of influence, learning to lead without authority, and developing credibility. Additionally, Lisa will discuss the importance of mentoring, and how a successful mentoring partnership can benefit both parties.

Hillary Mandel P’20 SVP at IMG Located in the ELC, 3rd Floor, Arches Lounge Interested in the media business and its ever changing landscape? As SVP, Head of Media North America for IMG Hillary oversees property rights and programming deals for IMG’s portfolio of over 200 rights holders and 35,000 hours of content per year.

Bridgette Mayer-Johnson ’96, Art Gallery Dealer and Entrepreneur Located in the ELC, 3rd Floor, Arches Lounge Join Bridgette as she shares her experiences and career path from Bucknell to owning her own gallery. Do you like art? Are you currently studying art? Do you want to learn how to incorporate art in your life and/or your profession? Do want to know how do have a career in the arts?

Diane Vazza P’20, Managing Director, Global Head of Fixed Income S&P Global. Located in the ELC Room 217 Learn from one of the Top 50 Women in Global Fixed Income and Credit, about the markets and a career in Capital Markets. Her analyses, forecasts and research on global credit markets have earned her an international audience. She will speak on her career path and experience in a rating agency, regulatory, trading, credit, risk management, and banking.

5:00-6:30PM, Women in Leadership Dinner located on the 2nd Floor of the ELC, Center Room Dinner with Women in Finance Club, Society of Women Engineers (SWE), members of Panhellenic Council, members of the U & I Club (Unite and Inspire), student athletes and other student leaders.

7:00-9:00PM, Inspired by Women, Empowered for All Gala, 2nd Floor ELC, Terrace Room The Women’s Resource Center will celebrate 30 years of service to . This is a formal event and dresses and suits are encouraged. The Gala celebrates the accomplishments and contributions of women and organizations for and by women. Individuals and organizations who advocate for and ally with women are also important to this celebration. We honor and affirm women across a variety of experiences and identities.

10:00-11:30AM, Discussion with Career Counselors located in the ELC 217 Panelists will meet with counselors and staff of the Career Development Center.

11:45-1:30PM: Women in Leadership Panel & Lunch located on the 2nd Floor of the ELC, Walls Lounge

11:45AM Provost Barbara Altmann will address the audience

Noon-1:30PM Panel discussion about leadership in the workplace from women representing different industries and with varied background. Panelists will provide their definition of leadership, how leadership skills are developed, and key factors contributing to a leader’s growth. The audience will hear significant insights into the roles the panelist play in their organization and the impact of those roles on their organizations and industries overall.

Lisa Domanowski ’00 Program Director- Gulfstream Aircraft Flight Controls, Moog Inc. Lisa is a program director at Moog Inc, in the Aircraft Group. Moog Inc. provides precision motion control systems for a range of applications. In her current role, Lisa is responsible for all aspects of Moog’s performance in providing flight controls to Gulfstream and Israel Aerospace Industries. She also participates in the formulation and execution of strategy and leads improvement initiatives. Lisa has been with Moog since 2002, except for a brief stint at Xerox from 2004-2005. Prior to her current role, Lisa spent a significant portion of her career as a systems engineering lead and program manager developing flight control systems for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. She has also filled engineering and management roles on flight control programs for Boeing 787, Airbus A350 and Embraer E2 series. Additionally, Lisa spent several years leading program activities in the commercial aircraft aftermarket group. Lisa holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Bucknell University, a MS degree in mechanical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and dual executive MBA from Cornell University and Queens University. Lisa is the mother of three children, and is a board of director for the Bucknell Engineering Alumni Association.

Hillary Mandel P’20 SVP, Head of Media North America, IMG As SVP, Head of Media North America for IMG she oversees sports property rights and programming deals for IMG’s portfolio of over 200 rights holders and 35,000 hours of content per year. During her long tenure with IMG she has negotiated some of the most lucrative and innovative sports media new contracts including Wimbledon’s one network model deal with ESPN, The British Open’s new deal on NBC and the Golf Channel, the New York City Marathon’s move from NBC to a triple play at ABC, WABC, and ESPN, and the Rugby World Cup debut on NBC. During her time at IMG and now WME|IMG, Hillary has negotiated deals for a portfolio of clients that include the ACC, BCS, IndyCar, USGA, PGA of America, FIFA, NFL, NASCAR, MLS, NHL, and most recently Conference USA and the Milwaukee Bucks. Her broad career at IMG includes working for sports industry media legend Barry Frank and a book of business which included the deals for the IOC/USOC, MLB, NBA, and local rights deals in and hockey and most recently the UFC on Amazon. A NYC Tisch School grad, she started her career at HBO and went on to Fox TV Station KTVU. Eventually moving to Golden Gate Productions which was acquired by TWI/IMG.

Hillary (Billmyer) Marotta ‘01 Board Member and Speakers Bureau Chair, This Is My Brave Hillary is a hardworking mom of two in Hummelstown, PA, who serves multiple nonprofits, including This Is My Brave, Inc.,(Ashburn, VA) and Someone To Tell It To (Harrisburg, PA). She has served in the capacities of assistant manager, program manager/director, and grant writer for multiple nonprofits over the course of the past several years. She most recently co-produced This Is My Brave’s first Women’s Mental Health Summit at the National Press Club in Washington, DC,featuring Elizabeth Vargas of ABC’s 20/20. She speaks and writes about her story of depression and anxiety in order to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and encourage others to be authentic, kind, self-care champions of their own. Hillary is also planning to become a Mental Health First Aid Trainer.

Bridgette Mayer Johnson ‘96 Art Gallery Dealer and Entrepreneur Accomplished Art Gallery Dealer with over 18 years curating exhibitions featuring Philadelphia, National and International artists. Unsurpassed leadership, business and financial skills consistently growing the Bridgette Mayer Gallery over the past 13 years including a major 3,000 square foot renovation in 2011. Bridgette is also a successful author of the memoir “The Art of the Cure”. Board member of Ready, Willing and Able (The Doe Fund), Philadelphia, PA, The Association of the Arts, Bucknell University and active member of the Associates Group of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Diane Vazza P’20, Managing Director Global Head of Fixed Income, S&P Global Diane Vazza is the Global Head of Fixed Income at S&P Global and chairs the firm’s Ratings Performance Governance Council. Her analyses, forecasts and research on global credit markets have earned her an international audience. Diane has more than 30 years’ experience working in the capital markets, including rating agency, regulatory, trading, credit, risk management and banking experience at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Citibank, and Chase Bank. Credit Magazine named Diane one of the top 50 women across the globe in credit and fixed income. She has traveled to over 100 countries. She is past President of the Fixed Income Analysts’ Society Chaired FIASI’s Inaugural 2015 Women in Fixed Income Conference (WiFI-New York) and 2016 WiFI -Boston Conference, and currently sits on FIASI’s Board of Directors. Diane is a certified Emergency Medical Technician and volunteers for Emergency Medical Services 911 rescue squad. She is on the President’s Council at College of the Holy Cross and participates in the Career Advisory Committee for Bucknell University’s Parents’ Association Board of Directors. Her daughter Emily Schumacher ’20 is at Bucknell’s School of Management. Diane holds a BA degree in both Classics (Latin and Ancient Greek) and French from College of the Holy Cross.
