The root word of Babylon is Babel. According to the Strong’s Concordance of the Bible, the Hebrew word Babel is pronounced baw-bel (H895), and it means “confusion; Babel, that is Babylon, including Babylonia and the Babylonian empire.” But, what is interesting about the word Babel is that it comes from the Hebrew word balal (H1101), pronounced baw-lal, which means “to mix”. Based upon the aforemen- tioned word definitions, can we say that Babylon is “confusion by mixing” or perhaps, the result of specific things being mixed together? A closer examination of the word confusion is very thought-provoking. Confusion comes from the word confusioun, which means to overthrow or ruin. According to the Middle English Dictionary, confusioun not only means ruin, but it is seen as a source or cause of ruin, and a mixing of diverse things. Online Etymology states that “confusioun is the act of mingling together two or more things or notions properly “separate”… a disorderly mingling.” After reading the meaning of these words, what does this say about the Tow- er of Babel or the Spirit of Babylon? In 1 Corinthians 14:33, the Apostle Paul states, “For YHWH is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” According to the Strong’s Concordance of the Bible, the word confusion (G181) means “instability or disorder”. So, we know that, YHWH, the Elohim of Israel, is not an El (God) of disorder. In the beginning Elohim (God) created the heaven and the Earth. Genesis 1:1. All of YHWH’s creation that is upon the Earth is stable and in order as he created it, except mankind. Yahshua said, “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Mt. 6:9-10.” This means that whatever is in the Earth is in the heavens. Think about that! This is why there will have to be a new heaven and a new Earth (Rev. 21:1-6) because there are some sinful beings in both places. What does this mean in regards to the spirit of Babylon? Remember, Babylon or confusion happens when separate things are mingled together causing ruin, disorder, or instability. Let’s look at the beginning of the spirit of Babylon while understanding that, “all angels are spirits but not all spirits are angels.” In the book of Ezekiel we can read about what happened to Satan. Ezekiel 28:14-15 states, “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of Elohim (God); thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.” The word perfect in this scripture means entire, complete, and whole. If something is complete and whole, it is considered to be in order. The word iniquity in this scripture comes from the Hebrew word evel (5766), pronounced eh`-vel, and it means to be morally evil and wicked. So, we have Satan, who was created perfect, which is one thing, but iniquity was found in him, that being a separate thing, which is the definition of confusion. Ezekiel 28:17 states that Satan’s heart was lifted up because of his beauty and that his beauty corrupted him.

The word corrupt (H7843) means to decay or ruin. In other words, Satan’s beauty was the source or cause of his confusion. Satan turned his eyes away from his Creator YHWH and began to admire the creation; himself. He became proud and exalted himself; thus a desire to rule was born in him. He wished to put himself in Elohim’s place, which is out of order because he was not created this way. So, as a cherub an- gel, Satan is in a state of confusion. Isaiah 14:12-15

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of Elohim (God): I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” As of now, Satan hasn’t lost access to heaven. Currently, he represents one of the cherubs that cover the mercy seat, ref. Ezek. 28:14. On one side of the mercy seat, you have Satan, the father of lies. Remember, in Revelation 12:10 Satan is referred to as the accuser of the brethren, and rightfully so because he accuses the saints right before the throne of Elohim. On the other side of the mercy seat, you have the Spirit of Truth, therefore showing us the balance before the throne of God (Elohim). As the father of lies, Satan was able to convince a third of the angels to follow him, ref. Rev. 12:4, 7; ultimately, sealing their fate. “…Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: Matthew 25:41” After the flood, and after Noah, his sons, and their wives went forth from the ark, there was a man begotten by his grandson Cush, whose name was Nimrod. “He was a mighty hunter before YHWH... And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel”... ref. Genesis 10:9- 10 Nimrod, whose name means rebellion, was a rebel against Elohim (God). As the leader of the kingdom of Babel, Nimrod was connected with the building of the Tower of Babel or the Tower of Confusion. Genesis 11:4 states, “And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” According to the testimony of Josephus, Nimrod said that the purpose of the tower was to protect humanity from the flood. “Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of Elohim (God). He was the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah, a bold man, and of great strength of hand. He persuaded them not to ascribe it to Elohim (God), as if it were through his means they were happy, but to believe that it was their own courage which procured that happiness. He also gradually changed the government into tyranny, seeing no other way of turning men from the fear of Elohim (God), but to bring them into a constant dependence on his power. He also said he would be re- venged on (Elohim) God, if he should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to reach.

Anyone that rebels against YHWH is in a state of Babel or confusion. Based upon Josephus’s statements, Nimrod had the same mindset of Satan. So, he was just as confused as Satan because of the type of spirit that possessed him. Let’s continue on by reading the remainder of the scripture concerning this.

Genesis 11:5-9 states, “And YHWH came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And YHWH said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have im- agined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So YHWH scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because YHWH did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did YHWH scatter them abroad

upon the face of all the earth.”

Based upon the above scriptures, YHWH did not instruct Nimrod or the people of Babylon to build the Tower of Babel (Confusion). So, what god was behind constructing the Kingdom and Tower of Confusion? Satan, because YHWH is not the author of confusion, ref 1 Cor. 14:33. Having knowledge of Satan; and his role in YHWH’s story will help one understand what the kingdom of Babel is all about. Yahshua called Satan, “the prince of this world, ref. John 12:31. In 2 Cor. 4:4, Satan is referred to as the god of this world. The kingdom of Babel that was established by Nimrod was a physical manifestation of Satan’s kingdom on earth. In fact, it was the very first one world government with one ruler, one language, and one people that worshipped one god; Satan. Every subsequent world empire would be a continuation of Babylon.

Now, let’s examine the secular history of Babylon with an in-depth view of the beginning of Satan’s kingdom of Babylon. According to various sources of history, Nimrod had a wife named Semiramis. After having an adulteress affair, Semiramis became pregnant while married to Nimrod. And, unexpectedly, Nimrod dies an untimely death. In an effort to retain his power and cover her trans- gressions, Semiramis makes this most miraculous claim. She publically declares that upon Nimrod’s death, he had been resurrect- ed as the god of the sun. And, as the sun god, Nimrod used his sunrays to inseminate Semiramis with a child. This child was considered to be divinely conceived, and the child’s name was Tammuz, which she claimed was the reincarnation of Nimrod. So now, Se- miramis was both Nimrod’s wife and mother. Moreover, the child was worshiped as both husband and son of the mother goddess.

After the scattering that occurs at the Tower of Babel, the story of the miraculous conception of this child disseminated throughout the world and lead to the rise of sun worship along with the various birth, death, and rebirth cults through history. This was the beginning of paganism and idol worship. Nimrod the Sun god, was known as Mithra in Persia, Sol in Rome, Rah or Horus in Egypt, and Apollo in Greece. Semiramis and Tammuz who were the start of mother-child worship, are also known as Isis and Horus in Egypt, Irene and Plutus in Greece, Fortuna and Jupitor-puer in Rome, Ishtar and Tammuz in Babylon, and Ashtoreth and Baal in Phoenicia. Surprisingly, the mother-child worship of Babylon has been passed down through the thousands of years and still exists today. In Vatican City, Rome, we can find mother-child worship in its original state as Mary, the queen of heaven, and Je- sus. This is why the Catholics worship Mary as a deity because she represent Semiramis and Jesus represents Tammuz. As the ruler of the Earth, Satan knew that Yahshua Ha Maschiach, the true King of Yahudah (Judah), would be born of a virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14). So, he devised a plan through Semiramis and fathered these counterfeit virgin birth religions to cause confusion concerning the Bible. Remember, Satan is the father of lies, ref. John 8:44. The spirit of Babylon is the mother of mythology, whether Egyptian mythology, Greek mythology, Roman mythology, or Norse mythology. Together, they have deceived mankind through fables, traditions and religions. Every world empire since the Kingdom of Babel has been mingled with the spirit of Babylon, which is a part of Satan. This includes the four world empires the prophet Daniel spoke of in Daniel 2 and 7, which are the kingdoms of Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece, and Rome, with America being a part of the latter, ref. Jeremiah 50 and 51. So, how do we know a God truly does exists? How do we know which God is the authentic one? Bible prophecy is one of the many strong evidences that God does exist and that the God of the Bible, YHWH, is the one true Elohim that has declared thousands of years of history before it came to pass. Where are the prophecies of the gods of Babylon, Egypt, Greece, or Rome? What did Ra, the mythological god of Egypt prophecy that we may know that he is god? What did any of their gods say would happen before it came to pass? Atheist, pagans, and naysayers often claim that the Bible is a book of plagiarized stories that was borrowed from their mythology. But, can they prove that the pagan stories of Bab- ylon or Egypt influenced the beliefs of the disciples or the people living during their time? How can something that happened in history be plagiarized? The Bible is the number one best seller every year, and it is considered as a history book by scholars from all walks of life.

Yahshua ha Maschaich was prophesied to come as early as Genesis 3:15. Moses prophesied of Yahshua in Deuteronomy 18:15-19, the prophet Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, and Zechariah all prophesied of Yahshua, just to name a few. Daniel 9:25 states, “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks:…” So, the question is, is there any proof of Yahshua’s existence outside of the Bible? Let’s see! Cornelius Tacitus (56-120 AD) has been called the greatest historian on ancient Rome. He lived during the reign of several Roman emperors and was a Roman historian and a governor of Asia (Turkey) in AD 112. “Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abomina- tions, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberi- us at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, … Accordingly, an arrest was first made of all who pleaded guilty;…Mockery of every sort was added to their deaths. Covered with the skins of beasts, they were torn by dogs and perished, or were nailed to crosses, or were doomed to the flames and burnt, to serve as a nightly illumination, when daylight had expired.” – Annals 15.44

Pliny the Younger (Gaius Plinius Caecilius Secundus, 61-113 AD) was a Roman governor of Bithynia in Asia Minor from 111-113 AD (modern day Turkey). Pliny’s standard practice was to write the Emperor about almost everything. Here is a portion of his letter (Epistles 10.96.3-4) written to Trajan around 112 AD, “They were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by a solemn oath, not to do any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up; after which it was their custom to separate, and then reassemble to partake of food—but food of an ordinary and innocent kind.”

Apart from the New Testament, the earliest testimony of Yahshua that has survived is from the Judean writer Flavius Josephus. He had this to say: “Now there was about this time, Yahshua, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works-a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was the Christ; and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, those who loved him at first did not forsake him, for he appeared to them alive again the third day, as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him; (Antiquities, XVIII, III).

As you can see, there are numerous historical references that prove Yahshua ha Maschiah was an actual person in history.
