Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Another week has flown past us again, and I am so glad the sun is shining this week. It has been lovely to see so many of you attending the Academy each day and getting used to the new routines.

Students - A reminder that after every live lesson you have at least 1 – 1 1/2hours worth of written work to do which must be submitted online to your teacher so they can mark it and give you feedback. Far too many students are failing to send their work in to their teachers; this is not acceptable and parents will be informed if this continues.

To find your assignments after a lesson:  Go into your class on Teams  At the top you will see a number of different options to choose. Click on Assignments.  Click onto the drop down for Assigned. This is where you will find the different assignments that have been set after each lesson. Click on the individual assignments to complete them.

To answer a few frequently asked questions about Teams lessons, we have put together a FAQs sheet for you to read by clicking here.

Remember that you also have your timetable and a checklist of the work that needs to be completed that is emailed every Monday and put on SMHW as a notification every Friday. Parents & Carers – A reminder that you can use MCAS to check your child’s timetable as the online lessons are reflected on it clearly show the timings / period of the lesson each day.

The University of Westminster has emailed some information regarding the webinars they are running next week; please see below if you wish to take part.

A number of our student ambassadors are running subject webinars in the w/c 29th June that I hope your students would be interested in.

Open to students in Year 10-13, the Student Insight Series will provide younger students with the opportunity to hear about courses at the University of Westminster through the lived experiences of our current students. Delivered by our student ambassadors, they will talk about their reasons for choosing Westminster, break down the course modules, discuss future careers and present their final year research projects.
