Title: Forecasting Analyst Reports to: Director of Hunting Operations Department: Operations Location: Birmingham, AL Division: Hunting Division Job ID: 8107

General Description: The Forecasting Analyst is responsible for interacting cross functionally with Operations, Brand teams, Marketing, , and to coordinate and oversee the collaborative development of product forecasts for assigned brands. This position is responsible for driving continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy and forecasting process to positively impact out-of-stocks, shrink, on shelf availability, sales and margin. The successful candidate will have the highest level of analysis and problem-solving skills and be versed in best practice demand forecasting methods.

Scope & Responsibilities:  Gather data from a variety of sources. Assess, interpret, and analyze the data in development of a thorough, accurate, and supportable demand forecast for use in production requirements and financial . Analytic skills must include the ability to see the big picture and the demonstration of strong business intuition.  Drive continuous improvement in forecasting process and methodology. Work with Operations, IT, Sales, and Finance to leverage capabilities of ERP system and other planning tools. Direct the utilization of forecasting methods and software tools to deliver and monitor forecast accuracy. Continually seek, report, evaluate, and make recommendations to to improve forecasting, planning and budgeting processes within Hunting Division.  Develop and evaluate forecasting models that consider promotional tactics and activities, historical sales trends, new product introductions, flow of materials, and manufacturing capacity.  Expand data sources used in the forecasting process and integrate all available data sources in order to assess and monitor trends and changes. Sources to include: historical sales, point-of-sale data, secondary market audits, primary , competitive intelligence, sales analytics data, financial data, supply chain data, etc.  Enable Hunting Division to make informed, data-based decisions by providing business analyses and analytical support, particularly in areas where data is difficult to access / unreliable and where a high level of analytical skill is required.  Carry out other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned, in an effective manner.  Be guided by EBSCO’s values and behaviors.

Basic Qualifications:  B.S. degree from an accredited college/university. Degree in Mathematics, Business or related field preferred.  Two (2) years successful Forecasting or Inventory Management and Demand Planning experience  Proven ability to perform in-depth data analysis and present insights in a clear manner  Proven understanding of forecast methodologies. Must be very organized and have excellent skills.  Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations.  Listens well and seeks input from others. Knows how to effectively communicate and sell his/her ideas at all levels.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
